We had a riding lawn mower with two giant leaf catchers in the back. Hubby taught me to go over the yard first to mulch and then the next time pick up the shredded leaves. It worked but I was constantly emptying the cans..I could do at least 20 in the front yard..and probably 30 in back..I had to pay for special lawn pickup in the fall.

I tried to get the giant oak tree cut down one year and they told me they couldn't they were protected. All they could do was trim superficial limbs..not major ones...I told them whoever passed that law needed to come and clean up the leaves!..

And all those gumballs...those suckers are sharp..they gave me a flat more than once.

I also had a fence..the leaves stayed in my yard...if I had known before the fence was installed..........
The leaves would be several feet deep . And in the front..all the neighbors would blow in my yard!

But I loved to look at my yard when I was finished..I would sit on the back sunporch and just look at how pretty it was...then I would wake up the next day to look at it..and it was covered again!...

Undecided...I thought you might enjoy this....

I have an 80 year old oak that is dropping at least 200 acorns per day....most of them into my pool. In one month this special tree will be dropping his leaves into the same pool.

Would I like to have this special tree taken down ....you bet! Would I like to miss the cooling shade during the 100 degree heat ......not a chance!

Our back yard is 25 degrees cooler during our summers because of this Mr. Bad Boy. It is a love/hate relationship.......Our deck was built around him...I guess we'll keep him.

I had two oak trees in my front yard untill lightning struck one and killed it. It split it and blew parts of it across the street. My wife and daughter were about 40 feet from it when it struck. It burned the phone line completely out of metal, all the way to the street. It also burned out my oven, my TV and my furnance motor. It didn't damage the house wiring but burned a strip down the side of the house where the telephone line was. My other daughter was on the phone and she threw it down, the phone line was grounded outside so it didn't give her an electrical shock. There was a little pin oak not far from where the old oak was and now it's about 40 feet tall. It happened about 20 years ago.

Trees have been a part of my life that I remember since childhood.

Mormon girls visited my neighbor lady and helped her rake leaves and they came back later and finished her yard for her! She never took them up on the offer to study with them, but this was a far better deal than JW's give you. Where are they this year?- Moshe needs help raking leaves, too!
