Why don't you just call the Post Office and ask them for info >>>>>Anne said

I JUST DID THAT!!!!! THEY SAID IT WILL TAKE 7 WEEKS, But Anne I have to disagree with you. I have learned more things that I asked on HERE than ANYWHERE!!!!

Not using DHL, UPS, FEDEX or one of those is chancy at best especially going to a foreign country, you don't know how many sticky fingers it will pass through until it gets annexed so to speak by someone you didn't send it to.

I sent a package to India last year. It really depends on what you are sending and level of service you chose.

The time frames others have mentioned is not unusual. I sent a package via United Parcel Service (UPS) from the US...as UPS is the only US delivery company that I know of (at the time) that has their own center in India with Customs....its Customs that is the problem. If you sent anything other than a letter...then it is being held up....it will eventually be released. Everything in India, especially when the government is involved, is complicated and has 5 people doing the job 1 person could do...left over remnants of the British system... 5 different people in 5 different departments will have to stamp the paperwork, then initial it...before moving it on... and then you have to deal with the Indian Postal Service or the local delivery companies...they are very very inefficient...and that is presuming that you addressed it correctly....

Did you fill out a Customs form for those tapes? If not, it may be a long time, if it is not just rejected and sent back.

My package was sent UPS International Overnight Express...meaning 2-3 business days ...cost me $100 to send....it got to my (now ex) fiancee in 5 weeks....remember I sent it over night...my problem was I sent a gold necklace....(Black Hills Gold..not 24K)....that is a NO NO...Indian government frowns on imports of gold....and assessed a 40% tax on my ex....lol at that now...and she hated the necklace..it was so tiny compared to jewelry she already had....

    I wish you luck...or whatever....

Sorry about your experience. But it sounds like a blessing she is now your EX...Imagine not liking a gift.... Especially of gold. Thanks again sweetie (((HUG))
