For example, he throws some of God's people off balance by using the snare of "trembling at men/elders/JC/overseers/GB" (Proverbs 29:25) If because of fear of man, servants of God join others in doing what Jehovah. forbids or refrain from doing what God's Word commands them to do,would that be like not loving your neighbour as yourself, by shunning them? they have been ensnared by "the birdcatcher." -Ezekiel 33:8; James 4:17.

  Good review mini----I liked the jesus/satan=lions thing. on 18 I wanted to add that I am going to imitate Jehovah from now on....anyone who does not agree with me 100% is gonna get whacked....by me......oompa

  wow minimus an eye poper and u were really cut to the chase, i've decided today that was going to follow along with the WT Comment that u won't here as part of my study and it's very funny that this totally relates to my sociology class as we learned about "group think" i have a feeling that the WT headquarters have hired sociologist to explore group think in many different levels just to make sure they keep the little pigs in the pen lol

They may be afraid to ask for time off to attend all the sessions of a district convention to worship Jehovah with their brothers

  Ok for the cloistered G B to write that, up there in Bethel, living on the hard earned contributions of the working "brothers" and claiming every tax break they can..If they had to live in the real world and provide for a family perhaps it would be different. Note the sly dig in using the word "afraid"....

  Some of us remember the campaign against the soaps back in the eighties. We treated it with derision. Lets hope that the present crop will do the same. In our day it was "Dallas" that was criticised..but we still watched it anyway.

The articles warning against TV soap operas gave her the strength to refuse to be entertained by what Jehovah hates.-Amos 5:14, 15.

  I hope this woman never watches The Sopranos. She might want to be a mob boss’ wife too! Gee, I don’t know what we’d do without these timely warnings provided by “the faithful and discreet slave”. By the way, do you think any Witness really understands the difference between the “Slave” and the “Governing Body?”

  Big Love is another one this woman should stay away from...she might want to join the fundalmentalist LDS and be in a polygamous marriage!

  As to the comment about Satan wanting "god's people" to fall into the snare of trembling before men, isn't the society a big offender in this department? Just look at how everyone (esp, elders and ministerial sevants) act when the CO comes to visit...

  I also liked the 1883 reference, implying the GB has been providing accurate info for over 100 yrs. Uhhh, weren't they celebrating christmas until the turn of the century?? Weren't they predicting the end in 1879?? What an insult and a joke. You know they are targeting the young or the new ones who know nothing about this cult. And yeah, Satan, a powerful spirit being is trying to get us to smoke and watch soap operas...is this article for real??

  It also creates siege mentality. They are telling people that somehow the onus is upon them to protect themselves from a super-intelligent creature, who has been study their behavior for thousands of years, and who is trying to "get" them every minute of every day. Totallitarian regimes and cults use this "siege mentality" to create false unity.

  The point of the poem which stretches from Psalm 90 through Psalm 91 is the Jehovah DELIVERS persons from the birdcatcher. The bird doesn't outsmart the birdcatcher! It gets saved from the birdcatcher!

  It's incredible to me that they think that the sole purpose of their Satan the Devil is to attack Jehovah's Witnesses. That is all he and his cohorts do. They spend their time studying and thinking about the witnesses so that they will know their weaknesses and thus know how to weaken their faith.

  Just as they have invented their God, Jehovah, they have likewise created his adversary Satan the Devil and given him a role that is so stupid that any self-respecting devil would be ashamed at its pettiness.

  Interestingly, the "Gran Final" of this show comes this week in the U.S.!

  Many of the Spanish speaking "hermanos" have invested about nine months into this show and can't wait to see the big conclusion.

  I wonder how many will take the drawn out counsel against the "telenovelas" in today's study to heart and avoid this program this coming week?

  There was a lot of dissonance going on today in the Spanish congos!

  Jgnat expressed that this article seems to have been expressed before. Yeah, these articles are rehashes. As was mentioned earlier, a lot of these comments were "problems" in the 80s. Cut and paste jobs is all they are.
