My attempt at a fluff thread .

This morning listening to local DJ's on the radio they opened this subject up to the phone lines ......The male responses were hilarious...I had tears rolling off my cheeks driving home from work . Gave me a new appreciation into man-think .

Best response was "You've got mail" and "Steel Magnolias"

Got to leave you all discuss and I'll get back to you later today .

Generally, I refuse to suffer through chick flicks, but once I got suckered into seeing Patch Adams. I thought it would be ok because it had Robin Williams, but it was just a chick flick. Pissed me off.

... I get involved in chick flicks, I'm not gonna lie. Like, if there is nothing on tv and you change the channel and you find yourself watching some woman on the run from somebody (always an abusive ex husband/boyfriend who can do no wrong to the whole world but comes home and beats the eff out of her... ) and you get entrenched.

And then you realize you're watching Lifetime. But you keep watching until it really gets too sappy. Or it doesn't and you watch the whole thing.

I'm not the only one that has happened too!!! Stop lying! *shrugs* it beats those crappy 3-D monster movies on the Sci-Fi channel. Thos things always look cheesy to the point of laughter.

But I have to say that I have had to sit through "bridges of madison County' and no I did not know what the hell was going o an I wanted someone to get shot or something. Or for the birdge to collapse- something! Then there was Fried Green tomatoes.... Soul Food, which wasn't bad. Waiting to Exhale which wasn't bad but watching it when you are older instead of with your mother when she's drunk and telling you "Not to become a piece of crap like all thee other men" is totally differnt. Those heffas needed Jesus or something. A Self help book at least.

And the chick flick I love (eff you guys, you know you like oe or two...) is "The Joy Luck Club" I didn't cry but. it left a nice spot in my heart when the family met the twins from China.. or the twins kids or something. And seeing the family interact with generation issues and dealing. To me it was a cultural flick into Asian american families that fused into a chick flick. Anybody know the eff I'm alking about? Ladies?

First date with the future Mrs. Eagle 'The Doctor' with William Hurt. A truly forgettable waste of celluloid. The chaperone called me thoughtful afterward because I provided them both with napkins when part of the movie made them cry. Almost. The napkins were for the greasy popcorn.

I've seen the Joy Luck Club and The Color Purple with my wife.

I slept through most of it.

I have to admit, I actually liked The bridges of Madison County.

I don't suffer through chick flicks, that's my second favorite genre. With How To Lose a Guy in Ten Days, leading the bunch.

I've had a chance to think about it, now. Maybe I've softened with time or something because last night the Mrs. was watching 'Raising Helen' when I came in from work. I sat down and >gasp< enjoyed it. It could be because of the scene where Kate Hudson and Joan Cusack go and get the teenage girl (save the cheerleader, save the world) out of the hotel she went to after prom. Joan Cusack breaks the chain lock, sends the girl out to the car and then berates the boyfriend. She then walks away and stops and returns to the boyfriend and tells him, "You're not a bad person. You've just made bad choices." That is sooo how Mrs. Eagle would be in that situation, that I had to laugh.

Sometimes if the chick flick is packaged well, I like it. I loved The Devil Wears Prada.

The Legally Blonde movies and the Bridget Jones ones were actually quite enjoyable. I suffered throught Fried Green Tomatoes though. Also, does Titanic qualify as a chick flick? That movie was long, boring, and stupid.

I don't watch enough movies to be subjected to many chick flicks.
