Pumpkins in the Kingdom Hall yard....now Christmas lights...you can too

  I have been a pretty serious practical joker my whole life....some say I am stuck in adolescence (I hope she is 17). But anyway, right before Halloween I took a couple of pumpkins too close to the road at a farmers place and put them in the Kingdom Hall Front yard....I know I should have paid for them but no one was there. It was Sunday night, and was hoping maybe no one would notice till Thursday meeting, but they were gone on Wednesday.

  I put Christmas Lights around the door of an elder/buddy of mine when he went on vacation to Myrtle Beach Christmas week like 5000 other dubs do. That was years ago while I was in...what a crack up! So what can we do to the Kingdom Halls for Christmas that is fast, shows up from the road, and of course is blatantly xmassy?? Maybe snow up the windows with spray and hang a wreath on the door? We are talking less than ten bucks too. Lights would be great, but most fronts don't have an outlet. Try to keep it cheap............oompa

  ps...I remember making christmas wreaths in second grade!!...circle a coat hanger and take pieces of plastic bags or dry cleaning plastic and push them on the hanger...if you use white or green plastic you are done once you connect the ends of the hanged to complete the circle. We used green spray paint on the plastic....yeah I was a JW...but wanted to fit in!!!!!!!!

  What about those signs you can stick in the grass like "Santa Stop Here". Or red bows on the gates?

  That is completely disrespectful.They have a right to believe what they want to.They have a right to not celibrate Chirstmas if they don't want to.Just because we have made a break from the JW's and believe diffrenent things now doesn't mean we have to be mean spirited towards them.

  Noni....I never meant it to be mean spirited or disrepectful...just funny....I think even the dubs would get a laugh out of it and probably think someone in the hall did it.............oompa

  Because they have the right to be respected and the right to believe what they want and to have a hoilday or not have a hoilday if they want to.To force your beliefs on them by decorating the KH is disrespectful and mean.

  If you want acceptance and respect from them you have to respect their right to not celibrate.

  I don't think it's any more disrespectful than knocking on someone's DOORSTEP during the holidays and telling them that that THEIR beliefs are a lie.

  I don't think it's as mean as treating those in your own family like $hit because they believe differently.

  I don't think it's as mean as telling someone else how to handle they medical issues and ask them to place that loved ones life on the line because of their warped bible translation.

  Would you as a dub found it funny to come to the hall one night and find it decorated with Christmas stuff?? I would have felt attacked and disrespected.

  Added, Thank you 4mylove. I have been personally invaded my whole life. I was willing to lose my life because I had been told my whole life it was right. Many of us feel anger and if we want to joke about decorating the halls, it's better than physically attacking the next witless at the door.

  Two wrongs don't make a right.Someone has to be the bigger person.Either you act like babys and trash someone else property or you act like an adult and don't.
