Advice? It will be mostly for my daughter, age 11 and she loves horse type games mostly. The Wii looking interesting of course. She's not into shooting games. Thoughts? Thanks in advance

The Wii product line seems to cater to youner and female players more than other consoles.
You should check out the Horsez game along the lines of the "Petz" games. -

I'm leaning toward a PS2 or PS3 for my next one. Primarily because I currently have a PS1 (I'm old school like that ) and these systems will play the games I currently have. Of course, the draw of Guitar Hero III is also a healthy motivator

Wii first then PS3 and maybe xbox 360
For young kids Wii is by far the best. That changes for older ones then it swings toward what they like more american sports games and shooters or Japanese style true video games and RPGs.

The XBox is made by Microsoft and it crashes sometimes (no, I'm friggin' serious!)
I've always personally liked Nintendo's stuff, especially their games.

I second it I won't own one because of their problems with crashing and fatal errors that render your Xbox useless. It is the only Console that games experiences the blue screen of death on with any regularity and can not be fixed by simply pushing the reset button like has been the case with japanese systems since the original Nintendo. Typical US and Microsoft made products

Never had any problems with it.
Plays it every day.
