As Gregor mentioned - the gallows builders will make it by soon to show you up the steps. In my case, I took the heat, DA'd with such a vehemence that they dare not mess with the Mrs too much. Once her mom is gone she will quit the cult officially too I suppose.

I'm so happy for you and your wife finally being able to break free. Yeah, the We miss you! How are you? How fake can they get? They know where you live and have your phone number. So why do they go on missing you? I face this about once a month in the stores. I haven't moved. They know where to find me. Be glad they are leaving you alone. I know that I don't want that kind of attention.

I hear ya about the "we'll miss you" stuff.....after 30 years of only "allowed" to develop friends withing the WTS and then leaving....I got ONE email from ONE JW (who I didn't particularly LIKE) that asked where else would I go now! THIS was the extent of any love and caring! Unfortunately, it is to be expected from an unloving and discompassionate cult.

Congratulations! I was out 10 1/2 years before I read Crisis of Conscience bt Ray Franz. That book took away all the fear and guilt I had for walking away. I can't recommend it enough. Please read it, you and your wife, if you haven't already.

I found a copy of Crisis of Conscience in our public library...it had not been borrowed for many years and had to be taken out of storage...Well done Raymond Franz, real eye opener...I will show it to my wife in the future but for now she is doing okay on her own and I don't want to scare her off too much. Haven't read the squel but hope to soon.
