The reasoning was that,'' if you can't control your own household how can you control members in God's house.''

This logic always struck me as bullshit. By the same logic, JHVH should be asked to step down as "God".

Both teens moved out and haven't been seen in years.

Now for THIS they should no longer be elders for not following the parables of the prodigal son or the good samaritan.

Just shows how goddamn backwards they really are.

oh you silly bastards dont you know the "new light" term for being deleted is........gasp......... "stepping aside" since stepping "down" as an elder would indicate superiority over the lowly publisher. lol

the answer is ABSOLUTELY yes an elder may be reinstated straight away.

think about it......... this is an org. that will after time has passed give a position of authority to a pedophile and have all records of him being a pedophile destroyed....... if they will do that in ANY circumstances then there is no limit to what they will do.

my dad personally was asked to step aside as elder....... and the lynch mob of elders even tried to start some crap over him still doing his assignment at the district convention although he wasnt technicly an elder at the time............ was funny cause the movers and shakers in the district came down on them like a ton of bricks because everyone they asked about him in the circuit had only good things to say.

their judgement............. he still met the qualifications and there was no wrongdoing or anything so he was fullfilling the assignment he got months before hand.......... funny thing was......... he was the assistant lol and these other elders were............... his little bitches lol. i wish he woulda abused them just a little............ made them do the crappiest jobs lol....... but he didnt.

damn i wish i woulda been out during this time............... cause he took it hard enough that i mighta been able to get throught to him and get him to leave then. damn damn damn

oh sad ending to the story........... he was made an elder again......... he immediately transfered congs to one who had a shortage of elders.......... became almost instantly po again............ the cong he left is dwindleing and the other elders moved away.........................

well guess there is a happy note............. means the cong that split away from the first cong about 25 years ago............... is now ready to merge back into one due to no new publishers and lack of attendance........... so can i get a big ole WOOT WOOT

Most definitely!!! I personally know of two men who were elders, one was Df'd for adultery, left his wife and married the other "sister", they were both reinstated a few years later, and he became an elder once more.

The other guy "stepped aside", and a couple years later was appointed an elder again. This guy had numerous affairs on his wife, lied about them all, and got away with it. What a fine, upstanding example.....puke.

When I resigned as a MS the PO said this was no problem and that he resign years ago over his son and got reappointed again.

As everbody says, Yes they can.........subject to the opinion of the rest of the B of E...and there is the rub.

If the man was popular with his peers on the body then , no problem after a suitable time , which can be quite short..However, if he upset them, and they have quite enough elders thank you , it can be later on or never..

I can think of a couple of very experienced and capable men who were persuaded to "step aside" for a short while to address a particular problem and then found that the so and so's would not have them back ! They can always find an excuse and wrap it up in a scripture. You have absolutely no rights in that situation. It is all about human politics - forget the joke that the Holy Spirit plays a part..
