actually i don't think they were members. only few of the baptised jehovah's witnesses are actual members of the association. at least where i live.
I have never forgotten the day two members called at our home.

the enthusiasm and genuine belief that the two JW members imparted. Also, the way they gave their time to discussing their faith, in the knowledge that I might not be joining at the end of the day. For them to have taken the time to discuss things, with no guarantee that someone will be joining, is such a generous thing to do. Finally, and by no means least, they were very warm and pleasant people,
Res,
Thanks for the response. What you say is true up to a point. Are you aware that the JWs at your door are obligated to spend a minimum of 10 hours per month going from door to door? That they actually fill out time slips to verify their activity? That if they don't, they will be scolded?
Being warm and pleasant and sincere does not indicate any substantive truth about one's message.
Just remember that Hitler was enthused about genocide and genuinely believed in it.

I have never forgoten the day two Jehovah's Witnesses knocked on our door and completely destroyed the rest of our lives for the next 25 years we were part of the zombie cult.

This was not an entirely selfless act. If a JW does not go door-to-door enough and hold enough studies the congregation Elders will confront them and want to know why they are not doing "works befitting faith".
Keep in mind that these Elders have the power and authority to tell other congregation members to avoid anyone who is "spiritual week", which simply means they will be socially avoided by everyone they know should they not hold enough bible studies like yours.
