Finding a place to live is the hard part. The province is a sort of bible belt fascist work camp mentality.

    Hey!

The entire province except for the Capital. In Edmonton we're made up of pinko office workers and unionized laborers. An island of liberalism in a sea of rednecks.

Construction? Like they said, same day. As long as you don't mind freezing temperatures, ice and snow. Wear a unibody snowsuit.

Accommodation IS a problem. Have someplace to go before you show up, or bring your own RV. http://www.voyagerrv.ca/

I do interior work only. The material I work with needs to be kept at 16 to 21 degrees Celsius.

Nvr, it's not just the oil patch. All the peripheral industries needed to keep it going means that ALL construction is up, indoors and out. I see three construction towers out my window, for instance.

You are a finishing carpenter? Kewl.
