I tried putting myself in a position like yours and know I would end up with splurges of thought headed in different places, sometimes at the same point in time and others years apart but linked in ways difficult to hold together as a thread within the context of one book on a first attempt.. I also thought about different styles - such as Desmond Morris own biography compared to others which read more like a screen play or whatever. I consider that Morris asked himself at some point what the book is meant to do and kept to it - simple and clear. He has written many! I think it would be a hard decision for me to decide which style I should adopt and each would likely mean editing/adapting certain bits to accomodate the style of delivery. Having the original to fall back on is always a comforting position to be in. Having got everything out places you in a creative position. You can explore the material and consider how to serve it up at your leisure - there is no rush although that may be how you best function. You may in fact now focus more on exploring your own style - the way that best suits you and then go with it. Best wishes!
