I just wanted to add that it seems like the Public Affairs dept always likes to push the "family" topic. Often PA reps leave the family book with influential ones in the community in an attempt to appear normal.

As much as I thought the family book was one of their better books, it is ironic they put forth this topic given how disfunctional JW families are. But its always safer to stay away from doctrine and talk common sense any day.

Excellent - this news has made my day.
I wondered how long it would take them.

The Mormons did this last year, offering a free video.

There really is nothing new under the sun.

    But, Seeker!!!

WBBR was owned by the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society, so it wasn't "worldly media" it was "theocratic."

    playing Devil's advocate here

I think this may call for a public service announcement ad in rebuttal wherever the WT ad is shown...

bottom of the barrel TV advertising - a UPN station at
12:28am ?? it's good to know that SOMEBODY actually saw it!

If this practise becomes widespread, MAKE SURE THE WATCHTOWER
is paying money for these spots - and that they aren't some
kind of public service announcement - for free. The Mormons
will actually pay for their stuff - don't let the WTS
    get away with freeloading.

This surprizes me. I always believed the reason they didn't use the media was because of the $$$$ involved. It's much cheaper to use the free drones. They must be getting desperate.

I can just hear my MIL and sister, "Jehovah is speeding up the work. He wants to reach everyone in their homes. The end must be SOOO near. bla bla bla."

Go ahead Watchtower, spend your money. You can spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to get a handful of phone calls requesting bible studies and we "apostates" will make sure they get what's on-line so they never progress to baptism in your filthy deceptive excuse for a religion!

LOL, yeah, I thought of that later. But remember how they used to do these coast-to-coast radio hookups? That was a lot more than just WBBR.

Plus there was the Photo-Drama, shown in worldly theaters around the world.

I am shocked the JWs would turn to TV. It makes them seem like all the other religions. They have always put down TV religion. And think of the money spent on air time. If I am not mistaken, it is very expensive. I am not saying it is wrong, but just out of JW character to say the least. By the way, have you seen that blonde lady on TBN, wearing TONS of makeup, looks like a Tammy Faye wannabe? She is hideous looking. Why do some of these female TV evangelists have to look so horrible?

    Just my thoughts.

A brother who saw the commercial last Friday said it was really nicely done. It talks about Family life and plays the kingdom songs in the background.

I wonder if the Watchtower Publishing and Real Estate Co. can be sued for false advertising.
They should be held to the truth in advertising laws and made to publicly admit that to them their cult is more important that their own families.
