Tithe - giving 10% to the church

The church that I have been attending with my wife hasn't mentioned tithing. They pass the plates but sometimes the preacher has to be reminded to do it. I like the people there but still have so many issues with the bible and the interpretations of it. Is there really truth in any religion? I just can't seem to have faith in anything religious. I feel it would give people a sense of peace to believe in being saved and having a relationship with a God, but I can't seem to accept it as real. I'm not sure I really believed it when I was a JW and leading the congregation as PO. Who knows how I will end my days, I sure don't. I would like to believe all the BS but I can't seem to see any evidence of it being truth.

The bible is a fantasy book written by priest to control sheeplike people.

    Sheep are very stupid creatures.

The 10% is to support the priest in a comfortable lifestyle.

    It's not rocket science.
