Does time fly by faster now that you don't go to meetings anymore?

One thing I have noticed is that the prime blocks of time are now open, not tied up in field circus. Plus, I can sleep in without having to worry about getting up in time for field circus the next morning. No more boasting sessions. No more worrying about taking time off work for the bigger boasting sessions.

I have also noticed that an hour spent on this forum goes by a lot quicker than an hour spent in field circus. I have had times when I would be out from 9:30 until noon. To get those hours in, I had to get up at around 8, get dressed up and my sxxx together, and then walk to the place where it was being held. Then, we met at 9 (and I hoped for every delay, where time seemed to just about stop). The next 2 1/2 hours seemed to be an eternity, and I couldn't bear the thought of having to stay out even a few extra minutes, let alone until 2 or 3 (or 5 or later) as the hounders wanted me to.

On this forum, I can get posting and before I know, an hour is gone. The same amount of time, but without the dread of having to defend a faith that cannot be defended. And not having to follow endless rules (I do not have my white dress shirt, suit and tie, or dress shoes on). Nor do I have to worry about getting stuck at a call where the guy is spitting blood into a mayonnaise jar at regular intervals or that is going to get into a long discussion that seems to always veer back on course every time it seems to be closing. What dread--I would rather do apostasy.

As for the Watchtower study, I prefer the comments on this forum. The ones in the Kingdumb Hell are all canned, following The Track. The comments are from the paragraph itself. Here, they can come from other litter-ature, other sources, or even common sense.

To answer your question, I heard life is like a roll of toilet papper, the closer you get to the end the faster it goes. We were all younger when we were witnesses. The wac tower took our best years.

Very profound!!! You are so correct!!! I still wish I played more sports in HS and went to college.

Yes, JH, and all of the above.

As so clearly stated, our putting the "kingdom first" caused us a continuous state of stress: whatever you're doing, get it done and over with asap!

I recall an article years ago, probably in AWAKE!, that advised JWs to install low maintenance landscape so as to not be overly caught up with gardening chores. Too, a missionary sister was needing some "down" time and her husband, relating their story in, I'm recalling again, AWAKE!, indicated that she was granted a half day a week to do art. I am both a gardener and an artist - when I get into a project, I don't want to be interrupted. Let the creative juices flow unhindered. I could never feel right about doing anything outside of the WT box.

About a year-and-a-half or two ago, in May, there was a KM with a little weekly calendar that had cutouts for theocratic activity. Post your service, study, meetings in the appropriate boxes. I still cannot believe the micro-management of time they coerced us into.

Oh, the time does fly now!

I will say not..it was in the opposite. Preparing for meetings. get dressed to be on time, it was very time consuming programme.

Now I have time for my own...boy life as a JW is a hell
