Since the society couldn't get a visa to send in missionaries, they made up the ruse that he was an english teacher, not a servant of god. So! They lied to the govt. and now they want HIS money back for their lies????They sent him in on a lie, he made probably a minimal wage. Besides, in a few years when he grows older, he will become a liability to them physically and wil then tell him to go back to his home cong. and thank you very much. Will he get a disability retirement??? Will he get a profit sharing check from the multii billion dollar corp, ???? Go figure

Just wondering if the country was Laos? If so, it didn't sit well with me at the time that this happended - but in my ignorance put it down to "theocratic strategy". Perhaps it has been an ongoing strategy though....
