Dear Friends,
I love reading and learning new things. The sanctioned WTB&TS mode of reading and application - "making the truth your own" - is contrary to the gathering of correct information and deciding for myself how to use it: to better myself and to assist my fellow man. My dilemma, however, is that, after having read discussions on JWD about conservatism v. liberalism, atheism, theology, conspiracy theories of every stripe and so on, I have no idea what to think - much less what to say.
Of course, better to be thought an idiot than open my mouth and remove all doubt.
Never having learned objective thought and critical thinking till reaching this forum has, perhaps, precluded my ability to fathom what I read and connect it to our current reality. I am astonished how informed individuals can make not only an exposition of facts on, let's say, the United State's entry into war with Iraq but can adroitly tie together seemingly disparate bits of information and reach an intelligent conclusion regarding what has actually occurred. Needless to say, what I deem an intelligent conclusion might be heartily shredded by another person.
There are subjects on which I can speak, but will I ever be able to understand and comment upon the "deeper things of JWD"?
