Probably a stupid question but have they tested for allergies? Clear out of the blue I developed an allergy to Ibuprofen that looked very much like that. Some steroids cleared it up, and also cleared up any doubt in my mind about 'roid rage.

MsMcDucket: Did they mention anything about Psoriatic Arthritis? I was just wondering, because the joint pain you mentioned may have a connection. I don't know who you're seeing for the psoriasis, but for heaven's sake, I hope it's a dermatologist. Psoriasis is incurable, but there are some good treatment options out there. Just make sure the doctor treating you is very experienced in treating it. In the case of Psoriatic Arthritis, sometimes patients also see a rheumatologist.

My disclaimer: I am a dermatology nurse, but I am posting this advice as a common "lay person" (i.e. don't go to your doctor and say "This nurse told me I might have Psoriatic Arthritis"). I'm refraining from giving specific medical advice. I just highly recommend seeing a specialist for any specific medical problem.

They did a skin biopsy. They called with the pathology report today. I had a skin testing for allergies years ago. I'm allergic to almost everything regarding breathing! Pollen, mold, dust mites, animal dander, grass. . .

jumping on the bandwagon from my own perspective here.....

firstly, whatever treatments you decide to pursue, i hope that they benefit you greatly!!

just so you know >> homeopathy can be an alternative route to investigate rather than pharmaceuticals, ...... a trained homeopathic consultant can determine which of the over two dozen remedies indicated for psoriasis most closely reflect your particular manifestation of the malady

here is hoping for your eventual recovery, mate

You should take a look at perhaps trying laser therapy---specifically, Meditech. I had scar tissue on the soles of my feet and I went for around 12 treatments. My feet are about 80% better.

Here's the site. Looks as though psoriasis is something that can be treated with it:

When I go in tomorrow, I'm going to let him know about this. Years ago, a rheumatologist felt that I had some sort of spondyloarthopathy. He put me on Sulfasalazine; but the G.I. doctor told him that I didn't have anykind of inflammatory bowel disease and that I didn't need to be on Sulfasalazine. I still have a big bottle of it; I didn't throw it away. I am seeing a dermatologist now; I will take that bottle of pills in there so he can see that I've had this back problem for years (just didn't know who to believe). All of these doctors are affiliated with the same clinic, so I'm scared that someone will try to cover something up. I dunno??? I'm feeling really paranoid today! Must be the prednisone!

My sis-in-law has psoriasis... it seems to run in her family. She also has fibromyalgia which her docs say goes hand-in-hand with this.
