Here's the thing. If this seller had listed this ring as gold plated or just gold without the 10k I would not have even bid on it.Like I said before the very least I was expecting was a 10k gold ring with a maybe sapphire and maybe diamond ring.I could have forgiven a not so real sapphire and not so real diamond because I was getting a 10k gold ring. Now I have a worthless piece of crap.At least with a 10 k ring I would have real gold.

I could have been ok with cubit zirconia and created sapphire as long as the gold was real. Most people wouldn't even know the diamond and sapphire wasn't real. However fake gold and fake sapphire and fake diamond I can't except at all.I was lied to and scammed.I'm going to use all the resources I can to get my money back.

Very important: Tell the seller that you're just not pleased with the win, and that the transaction can be reversed WITHOUT any negative feedback-you know, blackmail a little, you'll sound really eBay savvy (which you are). DO NOT leave any feedback until the deal is unwound, and then only after the seller does. Even afterward, try to leave positive feedback but state your experience on the feedback forum.

This will only matter if the seller has a good feedback score and cares about it. . .and if he does he'll have no problem refunding. The shipping is excessive, nothing you can do about that since you knew about it in advance, but if he did misrepresent that it would be insured, you have a case for a partial refund on shipping, and that would be $1.65 to 2.50???.

I bought what was advertized as a Sapphire and diamond 10 k ring. What I got was a coustume plated fake gold fake sapphire fake diamond ring.I was also way over charged for shipping.I was charged $14.99 and I asked the seller if it would be insured for that price. They said it would be.They paid $1.13 for the shipping and no insurance.

Sorry you scammed noni-----but seriously: Did you really think anyone would sell a genuine sapphire and diamond ring for 15 bucks??

    That's what the shipping cost.

I've only had good experiences with eBay. Always. I've got some good deals too, especially when someone doesn't describe what they're selling properly. One item I took a chance and bought it for $10, turned out it was exactly what I needed and I should have paid closer to $80 but the guy only had a photo and a one line description for a computer part.

Jewelry from other countries (India, etc.) may not always have a mark on it.

I bought fake gold earrings when I was in Mexico a decade ago. The seller was predictably going on an on how it was real gold. I was like yeah yeah, I didn't care because it was the design I was after, not whether it was real gold or not. I wore those earrings continuously for the next ten years, only changed them this year. Of course, the "gold" plating wore off to a great extent after a few years. But I still like them.

I found e-bay was OK after quite a few purchases I only got ripped off once, the goods I paid for weren't sent but fortunately it was only a small amount £17, about $35.

I wonder what happens if someone pays a lot of money like thousands of dollars for something that never arrived, who will reimburse the buyer?

Not to say if the ring is real or fake... BUT:

The color of the gold can vary depending on the added matel (copper or else). Note that pure gold is 24 K, so if you have a ring of 10 K another metal is added and depending on which one - the color is yellow gold, red gold, whiter gold etc.

Also, the mark can wear of if a ring is worn. I have many golden rings which show no mark at all cuz i wear them daily.

Good luck on getting your funds back. If you payed through paypal - they got great complaint service.
