It seems like a rare moment of honesty, though - the abstract asks how something (disfellowshipping) that brings so much pain can be for the good.  Of course if they maintained that honesty they'd answer that it isn't for anyone's good.

I did a 'rational re-write' of a WT article about shunning several years ago, and shared it here:

When a Loved One Leaves the Watchtower Society - Parody

It seems as though there is nothing new under the sun regarding shunning. Sad really. Think of all those folks who are missing out on their children and grandchildren, parents and grandparents over a stupid rule designed in complete and utter fear that a JW's Faith™ isn't strong enough to discuss the belief system with someone who has become better informed about the WTS's beliefs and history than most JWs are.

The articles about training elders are revealing. The leadership realizes that if they don't get young brothers involved they will be in big trouble 20 years down the road when today's elders are too old or dead.

What this means is that the governing body knows that "this wicked old system" isn't going to end anytime soon.

If they really believed the end was soon they wouldn't  print these kinds of articles.

I wonder did they ever tell the brother in Malawi about the Mexico bribes?

How come the guy he`s  talking to has a bible in his hands and is also wearing a tie , Oh that`s right it`s  two JW`s talking to each other , nobody else is interested .
