Where I attended CA's in Bama the Mofo's bought the ASSembly hall. That was 25 years ago. Surely the bastard is paid off by now.
Yeah, power for two days. Bring your lunch and sit there. Maybe I should call Alabama Power and get a reading?
BASTARDS!
I'm gonna start my own God-Damn religion. Let some dumb-asses pay my bills

A sister who grew up on a farm says Norco "smells like country".

Let me see! They own the property, don't pay any property tax, Must pay somekind of insurance, so a two day visit, no food, all work done free, no expense there, so the only expenses if any would have to be for water and electrical use. They are scamming everyone, They put out a detailed expense account, they don't give out the actual expenditures of monies and all donations to society. They have to be sending x amount of $$$ for each pub there in the circuit whether they attend or not to the society along with the supposed donations to the WWW.
Why the IRS don't go over their accounts from time to time I don't know, but there should be some way that they could be held accountable. If they aren't showing detailed accounts then (society should also do) it's because they must be hiding something.

They may also have resident CO or Caretakers on the payroll. Although few would know about this arrangement.

I have had several jws mention this to me on their own. They do not understand how if we own the bldg outright how these ridiculous numbers can be. I like the look in their eyes when I tell them that it is because there are too many foxes in the hen house. The society is worse than our government
The society wants more money than if you rented from someone in the buisness. It is the same with everything in the society. It cost more for the building committee to do the job than if you hired a contractor, they want more money form their literature, tapes, dvds, etc. than commercial products. Then with all this ill gotten money, they never seem to have any money for anything.
What ticks me off is most jws know there is something wrong but just keep putting up with the same old crap. At least my wife who is a jw diehard finally quit donating to this crap. I do see a twinkle of hope in her.

Cost of the World Wide Work = Roughly $3,000
Amount Left Over = Roughly $7,000
EXPENSES of the December 2007 NORCO Circut Assembly = $16,916.99
Donations Given at the time of the Announcement (2:30 pm) = $8,800
Accounting + Public relations spin = shortfall of funds scam
They have done that for years. The books dont close untill the last bell. AT 2:30 pm all the receipts are not in yet..but the expenses are tallied. On paper you are $X short.
If you did your expense vs. income at home the same way you could make the same statement at the first of week 3. You would be one week short of pay..but have all the bills on the counter.
All the years I went I never got to vote about sending any money to anyone. They figure those contributions off the top. There are legit operating costs (even if the building is paid for). Lease costs and utilities, plus a repair budget need funds held back. $8 K is not unreasonable for a good sized building fee for a couple of days.
