Who cares what those fruitcakes think! You don't play life by their silly pathetic rules anymore!
Imagine having to explain why you have been disfellowshipped to a non JW! 'They would be shocked and outraged at the stupidity of it all and so should you! But, you can at least laugh at the silly buggers who follow every pile of poo from Brooklyn as if their lives depended on it!
Personally, Christmas to me means nothing religious. It signifies only freedom from an outrageously ridiculous cult!

Well done!!! BTW have you heard anything from your families yet?? I'm seeing witnesses around my neighborhood every other week now, but I believe my house has been marked as a do - not- call. Not to long ago the local congregation elders came to my house(believing my Father/Elder sent them), but I set them straight on where I stand with the WTS. I don't live far from the Wallkill,NY farm where they are still expanding their operation, as I read in the local paper last week.A large majority of my family are JWs , but I stay in contact with a few of them. WTS stuff never comes up in our conversations. Live your lives and make up for the time you were in the Borg(as if you can)lol, and again congratulation to the both of you!! Researcher

I am both sorry and happy for you! I of course am sorry that the official shunning of friends and family will officially begin, but in reality "de facto" shunning has probably been going on for years. Your elders are a bunch of doorknobs, to say the least.
If you really want to mess with them, I have a great idea. Couple this last meeting with the vandalism you received last year to your Christmas ornaments by active JW's, and go to the police to report a "Hate Crime." You could probably even get some media coverage!
By the way, you guys have huge stones, and you hit those elders right in their pinatas!

Oh boy! I hope those elders spent a sleepless night thinking about all that you said and wondering, "What if it is true...maybe I should do some "independent research" into this myself..." and fire up their Internet.
The one thing you might want to consider doing either by phone or letter is to let them know that you understand that they probably have questions that they are afraid to ask the Society, and that if ever a time comes when they feel the need to confidentially talk to someone about it, that your arms would be wide open to them. I would tell them that you are praying that Jehovah will open their eyes to the truth about the Society's lies...and then sincerely pray for these men. They are in a cult, they are spiritually blind, and deserve our compassion, for once you were blind just like them. Ask God to fill your heart with His love for them--for they are sheep that are in the clutches of the wolves.

It's funny, while reading your thread I pictured in my mind you and your hubby standing in the door way with all the christmas decorations and lights and then the 2 scapegoats dressed in the JW uniform looking STOOPID!!!
