I know personally of one case where the JW in question was approached by an elder (who I also have known for many years) and said that there would need to be a JC. The JW came straight out and said "I haven't been associated for years, and I don't recognize your authority to come after me after all this time. But if you do, I warn you that my attorney will institute charges against you personally, against the congregation, and against the Society, and we will pursue the litigation vigorously."
And that was the end of that.

I am a former 'elder' from Puerto Rico... got df'd when I expressed 'non-conforming' views etc etc (you all know the drill)... When I received the 'citation' to attend my JC, I realized that not going to it was the best way to express my contempt... after all, as I told them, they were going to do whatever they felt like doing... I told them to their face that they had no authority whatsover that I would acknowledge and respect... I also told that as a former Secretary of the cong, I had made copies of all the JC records **SMILE** ... enough to write a book!
After changing colors and almost fainting they told me that there was no need for a JC... that my words were equivalent to DA myself... and that since I had no interest in the TRUTH and the Organization... I should not keep the records anymore... that I should remember that a one time they were my brothers etc etc.. and that Jehovah is always willing to forgive...
I proceeded to extend both my middle fingers... and said "dont worry be happy... but I am keeping those records.. get a lawyer and sue me if you can"
I have never used anything I copied... but it sure made me (and still makes me!) smile ...
It is very simple to strip the of their so called 'power'...just dont recognize it!

Not everyone has copies of the congregation JC records Lou. When baptized the question was asked whether we accepted our baptism was in recognition of serving with the spirit directed organization? We became club members. Now they can use the club on us anytime they want. We signed our freedom away when we did that. The only way to regain it is to just disregard the congregation as a part of your world and move on. If you have family, its on them to act like family and show real, non corporate love towards you. Looks like the committee will be kicking you to the curb. Land on your feet. W.Once

I and several other people have used a letter I wrote several years ago. The only time I know of where it did not halt the judicial action is when the person had already met with the elders.

If that doesn't work, go to www.docbob.org and go to "Letter 2". I sent Letter 2 after I was invited to appear to face charges of apostacy when I sent Letter 1

FFM,I know of an elder who tried to convince the elders to disfellowship a man who had committed suicide!
Did the posthumous disfellowshipping work?

good shot Lou!! Write that book or let someone know who can write it. I bet Barbara or Randy or Bill would love to see that info.
I was baptized before we made vows to an organization. I was baptized to serve Jehovah and his son Jesus and there was nothing it about the organization Jehovah's witnesses that i recall.I know they changed th e baptismal vows in 1985- I think. So technically- I did not dedicate or sell my soul to the WTS.

Don't forget, if you're in the EU you're entitled to copies of any written records they have about you. Just requesting these may be enough to make them think twice.

I don't think so cause they like to feel like little gestapo's prying into other peoples business and getting turned on by the sexual exploits of the friends, cause most of them don't have sex lives of their own that they are proud about.
