It looks like the scientific "consensus" is not really there, is it?

Burn, This is why I don't bother with these topics anymore. "They" want you to cite sources, and when you do, "they" don't accept them anyway. Warlock

You're probably right Warlock. But I can't help but to feel a morbid fascination with the dissonant neurotic psychosis of some of these primates, like a boy holding a magnifying glass over an ant. Burn

So you're saying that Global warming is to human societies and govts as Armagedon is to the WTS? A tool of fear to manipulate? I'm open to that possibility.

I still believe there is truth to global warming, I have no doubt some may be exaggerating to suit themselves. But consider this, why stay with fossil fuels and oil if we know there is something better out there?

Brin, I agree yout. We should have had electric hover cars decades ago, or something else fun and clean. I do not dispute warming, just think that maybe other natural causes should be open for discussion. I am also open to more than one cause. If it is part of a larger natural cycle that we haven't seen yet, then do we need to consider our survival options? --I'm not talking "doomsday", just adaptations. If so, that is a task that I have no faith in our govts. to handle in a realistic or just manner.

I totally agree with you DU, we need to consider all sides to get a balanced view.

You are absolutely right Brin! I suspect part of the reason why we are slow to move on is #1 Fossil fuel is an awesome transportation energy source. Nothing comes close to the energy content. Think about it. 1 Gallon can propel a 2 ton SUV close to 20 miles at high speeds. Try pushing that thing yourself a block! #2 And maybe more important. We have a huge investment and infrastructure and investment in fosange fossil fuel. A radical change will displace a lot of people. There is naturally a tremendous amount of resistance to something that threatens so many interests. Burn
