Are politicians worry only about getting the position or serving their fellowman?

Do CEO do it for the glory or the job?

After watching the game with a bunch of 50+ dubs, that's all they have to look forward to. Their bodies are broken. All they can do is "work on things" until armageddon comes. One of them said, just out of the blue, "Armageddon's coming soon." None of the other dubs were sure of what to make of that statement...

Sad though...one of them thinks she's not going to make the New System(TM) because she likes to watch Koren soap operas!!!

So tell me how does a person earn anything with God is everybody on a gold star of good acts toget the prizes?

Of course they're only interested in the prize! The claim is that LOVE should be the motivating force behind serving God. Love of neighbour (wanting to save them), and love of God (following his commands). Yet still, God's love doesn't seem to follow the agape principle. He rewards and protects you only if you do as he says. Everlasting life is supposed to be a gift ... a gift is supposed to be free. How free is a gift if it comes along with so many conditions attached?

So you know that the gift is "free"! So are we talking about all people that believe in Christ or just JWs?

well, most human behaviour is reward-motivated, be it emotional, finantial, social, etc, etc.... so it it should not be very surprising. how many people would leave their religions, if all of a sudden there was a "contract change" and they said.. "hey, sorry, no more heaven for you... but you are welcome to stay". specially those for which this notion is their battle horse. i think of it as a matter of principles (or lack of) vs reward seeking behaviour. to deeply assimilate the notions and and implications that make moral and ethical beings and lives is far more complicated and everlasting, to be considered as common as a basic human trait such as reward-seeking.

i believe part of the impetus for me to finally commit to either re-entry into the fold or re-emergence into the "world" was sincerely looking at the "prize-seekers" and determining even if they ARE right... who the hell wants to spend an eternity with the stepfords? that is all i can see >>> perfectly awful people.....

Who in their right mind would want to be a part of some religion that was so destructive to the family and too controlling, if there wasnt any reward?

I would have never went to the kingdom hall when I was a kid, If I had only known it was a lie back then. I would have fought kicking and screaming to get away from it. But I didnt know it was a lie back then, so even though I did occasionally question things, and sometimes even made some negative statements, for the most part I kept quiet so as not to commit the unforgiveable sin. If I had known then, what I know now, I would have anti-witnessed every day of my life in school. I would have spoken out alot more.

    Yeah... the 'prize'.

Let's project a bit. There are those who are striving (if you can call it that) for that 'prize' - which happens when they survive this massive destruction event called Armageddon.

If they make it - they aren't home free though. If I recall correctly - there are 1000 years of peace and lazing around eating grapes the size of apples... only to have another 'test' thrust upon them after 1000 years. Yup - another test. And you had better pass this one - or else your ass is grass ...ZAP!!!!!... oops... guess someone didn't make it.

Okay... I guess I remember the 'final test' was only to be administered to those who were 'resurrected' to judgement - but... with their rule-changing administration - who's to say that they wouldn't raise the bar - changing the 'rules' for those who also survived the big 'A'? (Perhaps they'd call it 'New Light'?)

    Regards,

    Jim TX
