I did the church thing b4 I was a JW. If I ever get the urge I'll just start my own religion
Do you ever feel that you'd like to go to church...

When in Mexico, I usually visit a few churches and services. As these churches are so old, and the people there sincere, it's a comforting experience. The Basillica in Mex. City is quite the building.

WTraveller, I was in the construction trade for more than 45 years. Seeing ANY type of man's construction work is awesome. If your a world traveller, you would understand what I'm talking about.

Not even in my worst nightmares. The bible god is not something I want to pattern my life after nor give worship to.

I did the church scene after leaving the JWs - discovered that under the wrappings they are all the same. Not interested.

I worship at Home Depot! no other stirrings other than I tend to be gregarious and like working together with others to get things done. Kiwanis and Community In Schools gives me that opportunity in addition to my Baha'i activities. carmel

I solved this problem very easily, I went back to the very balanced, non-fundamentalist church of my youth: The Episcopal Church. I went to Midnight Mass last night. I went for the magic and the spirituality so palpible you could feel it in the air.

Merry Magdalene
About 1 year before I converted to Islam I decided to give church a try. I was very curious but had a lot of trepidation as well.
One Sunday I just walked into the church closest to my house, a Presbyterian church which happens to have a female pastor. Everyone there was very nice and welcoming but they didn't overdo it, thankfully. It was a very pleasant year of Sundays with a few special events here and there.
When I left they let me know I was welcome back any time.

I am still "in" but I think about this often as I fade......the need to congregate...
I have children and I see good in some sort of communal worship service, and upbuilding activities.
But where is always the issue.......for someone who doesn't profess trinity.
