The death of Dennis Lindberg...help if you can!

I haven't been on this forum for several years, nothing personal. The reason I am here is that I have been told that this forum is very active, and that is what I am looking for.

There was a case in the news here in Washington State about a 14 year old boy that died due to his decision to refuse a blood transfusion. this of course was the wishes of his aunt that gained guardianship over him due to his parents drug problems four years earlier. This hit the local news and the same day that a Judge ruled him mature enough to make the decision he died. The night that it hit the news I logged on to the King5 news blog covering the report and sure enough the local congregation was already doing damage control. I contacted the board that Ronnie Steele runs and the response from everybody there was awesome. Well it has been several weeks since he died and it is a story that just won't go away.

It turns out that Dennis had a secret girl friend, and she was on the television report and read a poem that Dennis had written. She has been active in getting the State legislators involved in an attempt to raise awareness to the problem. She has now been tntimidated by the school principal. She was sent home the day after his death, was not allowed to read the poem that was Dennis thoughts, and wasn;t even allowed to tell the kids about a memorial service that was being held for Dennis. Apparently the school prindipal has blamed her for the television coverage and even the massive posts on the news Blog.

Normally those blogs get a handfull of posts, this blog is up to 557 and still going.

Here is a link to the blog, and if you can spare a moment please let your thougts be heard on this. There is a lot involved here, Childrens Hospital in Seattle has a lot of clout in issues regarding religion and medicine. I have been debating with them since this hit the news.with their media specialist (applolgist) and the doctor that influenced the Judge in the matter is Dr. Douglas Diekema, apparently he is very well known, and was very key in a bio ethics study that Childrens based their opinion to decide that this 14 year old child was mature enough to refuse the transfusion and die as a result. If you google the doctors name you will also see that he was at the base of a very controversial ruling that a severly retarded child could be given drugs to stunt her growth so as not to be a burden on her parents. This decision sparked protest nation wide and even in the world press.

I know that many here have lost loved ones to this very dangerous cult as have I. I am tired to sitting by and just watching this pass me by. If you are inclined to do so please just take a moment and post your thoughts on this blog, one reason is to protest the decision to let this child die and also to support a little girl that has bravely taken steps to be proactive. She is not a JW or even related to any, she just wants to make a difference so that this will someday end entirely.

Dennis' first girlfriend is named Megan, and I think we here would all like to hear Dennis' poem. I have read the BLOG, and I have seen that some have suggested that the principal (or vice-principal, I thought) was a JW and not impartial in his actions. This needs to be checked out and proved if it is true; continue peeling back the onion of JW lies and misrepresentations!

I've been following the King5 blog, posted too about thinking I faced the blood issue during emergency surgery when I was 15. (Fortunately my surgery is not one of the high blood-loss types. Very interested to hear how all of your efforts turn out.

Ok, I am having trouble navigating this site as I am not used to it, call me a dork if you may as I probably am one.

The secret girlfriend of Dennis is named Morgan and her father has been posting on the North bureau Blog of King5.com in Seattle. I have seen some increase in the blog count and I can see where it is coming from. And I thank you all for that and the support. I am a real stubborn peckerhead about things like this as I have lost my oldest sister to this cult, and I am sure that there many here that have experienced the same.

If you go to the blog you will see that there is an on going dialog regarding Dennis, and you will also see that it appears that the local Dubs have been told to back off. You will also see that we are concentrating our efforts to engage Children's Hospital in Seattle that is at the base of this tragedy. There is a Dr. Deikmea that was a key player in the decision to allow Dennis to die. He also got world wide recognition for his imput on a nine year old crippled and retarded girl to have her growth stunted so as to make it easier for her family to care for her. This was and still is a hot issue.

It would be great if we can make a difference in this issue. I have stated on Ronnies board and I will state here also, we can come to these sites and discuss issues and it is kind of like preaching to the choir, or we can all do just a little and as a group make a difference. I can see from the latest posts on the blog that you have jumped in and I and others really appreciate that.

I would have come here and said my thanks earlier, but being a dork I had trouble navigating your site. I will make an effort to inprove on that as it is important, and I certainly do now want any here to think that I and others are not greatful for your help.

Here again is the link to the blog at King5 http://blogs.king5.com/archives/2007/11/a_matter_of_fai.html

You guys are awesome, and thank you.

I saw the youtube you made and it was really good. Are you local to Seattle? Anyway the information about Morgan was posted by her father Gary Curry on the site at King5.

She is a brave little girl and she has gotten a lot of support from that Blog, in fact I think it is great how people here jumped in and made thier opinions known.

I am going to try and get a dialog going again withe Teri Thomas who is the media specialist at Childrens Hospital in Seattle, she is the one that I think to pressure as she is the official mouth piece for the hospital. I am trying to get a dialog with the Dr. Deikeima who was the key figure in the Judges decision to rule in favor of the JW's.

Anyway thank you for the post, and if you have any other ideas that you would like to share you can contact me at [email protected]

    Thanks,

    Elton

By the time Meyer heard the case, Dennis was unconscious. The judge did not see him or speak with him.The boy was also unconscious by the time the court allowed his father to visit him.

The guardian and her daughters posted upbeat online reports on Dennis for several days. They said, “Jehovah is using Dennis in a mighty way.” They said they were “helping Children’s Hospital learn” how to treat leukemia without using blood.

The Jehovah’s Witnesses have Hospital Liaison Committees to monitor hospitalizations of Witnesses throughout the country and propose alternatives to blood transfusions. After the aunt suggested one to a doctor, the aunt wrote, “Dr. Park was amazed that I keep coming up with this stuff that she has never heard of even though she is one of the best doctors in her field – thank you, Jehovah, for providing the HLC brothers!”

Among the alternatives the Witnesses used were meditation, guided imagery, massage, biofeedback, and naturopathy. “Yesterday,” his cousin reported, “we installed 6 red blood cells (red heart-shaped balloons) in his room hanging from his bed, for him to visualize healthy blood production to combat the leukemia. He’s working on itJ, with the help of the ‘angry garlic head’ Bryan cox drew for him in his room.”
