A friend of mine who was then a CO, told me around 1977-78 that the branch overseer was participating in a training lasting for a couple of months at Brooklyn, and the theme was the "transition period" and the arrangement of all things in the post-Armageddon period. So it was as close 30 years ago as it is now, it seems .................

Is it my imagination or were there some wt's in recent years where they tell people they should plan accordingly for their later years but continue to be on the watch, yadda, yadda, end is near......... but the point was to have some type of resources as responsible adults should or that was the gist of it. Now, they want to plan for post armegeddon? how the hell does one do that? crap, just finally got my jw to attend to financial retirement planning types of things. I suppose that will all be out the window now. Maybe jw's will find a need for money anyway in post big A?

In the mind of the JW...I think they see the system heading into the "endgame" phase about now. I know "around the corner" has been the mantra for years.

Think of it more like a trip on a ship... there is a point that the ship transitions from open water steaming to entering the destination port. At that transistion point, the ship lows, picks up a pilot and ties to a tug.

The question is how LONG will the GB milk the rank and file in this mode of thinking...10 years, 20...30?

Don't forget that the rank n' file is a changing target due to churn.

If the U.S. goes in recession, it's a sign ...
If there's a revolution in Africa or India, or a school shooting, it's a sign ...

How were any of us that naive?
I suppose the lawsuit payoffs for mishandling child abuse among JW's is a
sign that the end is soon- this system of things persecuting the WTS.

In reality, the school will be about protecting the organization and making
everyone stay in fear of shunning. Sure, they will try to teach that the sky is
falling, but they will teach elders how to keep people believing in WTS even if
the sky doesn't fall.

All this crap is slowly fading away BUT I remember ...I think back in the '80's...when I was trying hard to swallow all the crap and studying with a bunch of different elders, my now Ex wife coming home from a meeting a telling me that a new plan was being implemented. That plan was "studying with new ones NO LONGER THAN 6 MONTHS" because the "time was soooooo short." I think they used the blue book...was that the United in Worship? or a diff one? Can't remember.

All of this proves that hard-core dubs suffer from memory loss. How many times have they said something like this ...and then POOOF it all just fades away and nobody remembers anything. It also proves they are hard-core cult members, following anything the borg says and not investigating anything on their own. See no, Hear no and Say no evil against the Brookly Liars!

They seem to have more crap "schools". There is Gilead, the Ministerial Training "School(??)", the Theocraptic Misery "School(??)", Pioneer "School(??)", and now this. It is going to be nothing more than a new way to coerce them into doing things the same way and expecting a different outcome.

Yeah. They did this in the late 1960's as well -- with the "Truth" [sic!] book.
