By the way, if your too slow or too deaf to hear a dirt bike/ATV coming around a blind curve, you probably don't need to be on the trail to begin with.

Wrong answer dumbass. They need to slow down enough to see where they're going. It isn't the freeway. I know someone whose tent got run over because some genius decided to blaze their own trail through the brush at dusk. Fortunately they weren't inside. I used to 4x4. I have a Trooper with swampers, but they've closed down more and more of the back country here because of the abuse. I only use it sporadically on the road now.

I have 2 ATV's a Polaris Sportsman 500 and a Polaris Hawkeye. Most of the ATV'ing that I do is in my own backyard, I have 4 acres and have created trails thru the woods on my property as well as some extra trails off my property.
Has anyone ever riden on the Hatfield and McCoy trail system in West Virginia? It looks like alot of fun and I am thinking about a trip to ride there.

Sorry...I'd have to agree with sooner, that is is the CORRECT answer!! This thread was about those THAT DO LIKE ATV'S....You seem to have an obvious problem with reading as much as hearing, it seems!
Why do you resort to calling me dumbass? I did not lower myself to calling you names, did I?
BTS, I'm waiting for an answer.

Those are the exact atv's we have. I absolutely love my Hawkeye. My husband has 5 acres in a neighboring county. We had a guy go and cut trails on it, but it does get boring. I've got some friends that have riden on the Hatfield/McCoy Trails. They seem to really like it. Haven't had a chance to go there but looks like fun, and you can ride on the actual roads there.

To think that a walking human being has to worry about yielding to a fast moving piece of machinery on a narrow unmarked in trail in dense cover on public land is idiotic. Your statement was dumb. I have had enough bad experiences with the damn things to have quite a reservoir of dislike for them. If more people conducted themselves on trail like on the road, with more care and consideration, this would be less of an issue. And no, I am not talking about dedicated ATV trails here. I live near more than 50,000 acres of Everglades wilderness and it has been shut down because people just won't behave.
I've seen similar things with jetskis on the water. Both seem to attract a certain kind of rude individual. I think straddling a powerful vehicle short circuits something in the brain somewhere.
bg75, isn't that funny we have the same ATV's......the 2006 Sportsmen is red and the 2005 Hawkeye is black........we bought the Hawkeye first, gotta love the independant suspension.
Hatfield/McCoy looks like a blast and like you said, once you get there park your car and do all of your travelling on the ATV...... groceries, dinner, whatever. Here's a link to the website
If you go to Callalantee, let me know what you think, it's alot closer than WV.

This thread has likewise seemed to have attracted a certain rude individual.
