Water used in hemodialysis has to be practically laboratory standard distilled water.
Chlorine also must be removed by charcoal filtration or other means.
That has nothing to do with standards for normal city supplied drinking water.
I was the owner of a water laboratory for many years in the 1970s and 1980s and monitoring dialysis water was one of our business contracts.
I repeat that small amounts of fluoride in domestic water are not causing public disease.
What danger would fluoride pose to dialysis patients?
Same as chlorine - this water goes into solution in the dialyte - which is pumped through a persons veins i.e. blood.
This is obviously different than drinking water.
What would the adverse effects be?
Liver or kidney damage. Not just flourine compounds - it has to be as pure as distilled lab water.
Like I said, ordinary tap water cannot be used for dialysis.
It works fine (and safely) as ordinary tap water.
