I think it would have been smarter for them to shorten the Thursday meeting instead of the Sunday meeting. That is the meeting less people attend and even less stay awake for. Oh well, I'm just glad I don't go to any of them anymore...

Because of "control" issues, it won't be long before the org has satellite hook ups from the mother ship to all KHalls. Public Talks, Instruction Talks, and Special Announcements.

But wouldn't you need people with "advanced" education to do that sort of linkup?

I'm with Watson. Picture having almost all of the meetings by sattelite or telephone hookup. It would cout down on the need for Kingdom Halls. No one can easily pay the expenses anymore. So it could be that you have 1 centrally located meeting place. Then you could devote more actual time to the life saving ministry.

Hey, OTWO, imagine if the trend of shortening the meetings by 15 minutes every year continues!

In 18 years, the meetings will no longer exist!!!

A mighty shout of praise would then go up to the Great Celestial Pasta Maker!

And we could all just stay home and have Spaghetti.

my mom is already receiving the in home hookups and because of her health, i am sooo relieved. i've asked her about the shorter public talk time and she seems to know nothing about it.............

My father did when he was ill, and now my mother does. The reason she didn't know about it, is because while it's hard to pay attention at the meetings, it's even harder when you just listen over the phone! At least at the hall, you can people watch etc, at home it's soooo boring, so you might have the TV on in the background with no sound, or something else to try and cut down on the mind numbing boring speech coming out of the phone. You really don't pay attention to what's being said. BB
