I wonder how many will leave out the negative introduction. I heard one today that bashed religion altogether, made people think that people are leaving the churches in droves. Evidently, the speaker doesn't read current media about the megachurches and increases in the mormons, pentacostals, etc.

Also, he talked about the evil that religion promotes, astronomy (do you think he meant astrology?). Many statements without proof, either reasoning or scriptural. He left out the part where the WTS was associated with the UN for ten years as an NGO, playing the harlot like the other religions he was bashing.

The talk kept on time. It was as dry as a talk could be, as if he was reading straight from the outline.

The study was, as I feared, 1 hr and 10 minutes. You know you are in trouble when your are only on par.9, and the clock says 11:05, and it's supposed to be over by 11:30. Buncha blabbermouths that WILL have their comment, and say the exact same thing as the previous commenter. ZZZZZZZ

Some of the articles used to annoy me from time to time but the public talk always seemed to drive me up the wall whenever the brothers started to express opinion. I hated the factoids they would spit out like divorce rates, number of kids on drugs, persons leaving the churches in droves. None of them ever spent a minute on research. And don't get me started on education.

Sure they may have less time for personal opinion and such, but the other 95% of the talk is still going to be these stated false statistics from the talk outline.

At our hall the public talk was 30 minutes.

Funny thing though, once the speaker concluded, it seemed like half the congregation turned and looked at the clock posted on the wall. They were all surprised that the talk was over so quickly. Quirky, surprised looks on their faces. Even confused. Some whispered to me, "That was quick. Look what time it is."

    I laughed.

Yes, they forgot the 30 minute talks started from this year.

    Public Talk:

    34 minutes.

Theme: Watching Paint Dry -- Suitable Entertainment for Christians?

(Half the congo was rubber-necking the clock too.)

    :-)

    Watchtower:

DANG IT! I forgot to see if it all just morphed into 2 hours again. I'm pretty sure it did. I'll keep a closer watch next week.

Thanks to many of you for your reports. It seems that it will take some further
adjusting to keep the 15 minutes out of the Watchtower portion of the meeting.

I suppose the Circuit Overseer, with 15 minutes less, will have to go long in his
    other parts that week.
