In addition to the previous post, I wanted to add - it's true many nihilists are atheist. It's not true that all atheists are nihilist.
BTW I fit the model right on as I started to give up on my Christian beliefs I started to get a nihilistic view of the world "This world and life is ilrelevant so do what I need to do to make good with god somehow no matter the cost I always have the promise of a new life". Then I became more of an atheist and then more skeptical more less nihilistic. Many Christians also live nihilistic lives do to Jesus redemption of sins concept. They think I am redeemed so I can do what ever to get you or others to believe or stop saying things I think would cause other to cease believing. When you confront them on how that doesn't sound very christ like they say "Don't like my method FU I am saved with the promise redemption from my god". They think sins in this life don't effect the after life because the are redeemed and that's it. Not like what other religions teach in which you may end up a worm in the next life because of wrongs in order to purify your soul. A very nihilistic view very much like the one some angry christian posters on this board hold.
