I wonder about this often myself... I mean this shit is crystal clear, this WT is bull and anyone with half a brain can see it. Is there something wrong with them, and if that's so shouldn't I be kinder to them than I am.... shit, I don't know. Maybe they just don't have the mental attributes to see facts?

That said, I've read things here on this site that really impresses me, I can't believe anyone I've read here could ever not see reality, all of the posts here for the most part are very well reasoned. Are we just smarter? I mean, I really wonder that... I really do? Even when I disagree I still see the position of those that disagree with what I'm thinking, I might not agree but I rarely say "that guy/gal is an absolute idiot". I see their points.

Yet, when I read Aleman, or JC Cannon, sorry to be so honest here, but I think... WTF is wrong with these guys? They're off their freaking rockers...how do you deal with that? My family is the same, they refuse to see reality or they can't see it, I just don't know! Tough question dude!

I dunno, maybe I'm just feeling silly today. I found the post hilarious! The board is not just for lurkers and some of us (especially us ubm's) need a good laugh now and then.

We can either laugh or cry at the prediciment we are all in being involved in some way with jw's and it is so much more fun to laugh at the truly ridiculous. I know, I've done the other choice. I often find really stupid things in jw's to laugh about but don't dare bring them up here because someone would find offense. We need a release from the gloom & doom on occasion, the deaths, suicides, maritial breakups, children being shunned and all the rest. Lighten up, no offense is usually intended even my jw has tried to hide a laugh when in the middle of a famous ubm/jw fight I bring some asinine thing. He manages pretty well but with a giant smirk will agree that something or another may sound pretty stupid, but like a good little jw he finishes with a serious side to the totally ridiculous.

It's not that JWs have less than "half a brain". They don't dare let themselves use what's up there. If I'd heard you nailing the WT to the wall a few years ago, I'd have stuck my fingers in my ears and gone "La,la, la. La, la, la. I can't hear you."

But I feel your frustration.

I have been asked many times why I don't answer at the meetings. The last time the question came from my friend and Elder on the last sheperding call. My answer has always been that I feel stupid answering a question that is so obvious . I mean what the heck is the point. Especially the usual last question in the watchtower study articles that ask what will be the next article we will be studing. To me that seems to be question you would ask a two year old, but the adults seem to have to have no imbarassment in answering it. As I told my friend and the other Elders that this type of question and answer method of study has been proven to be a highly ineffective method of learning. Of course all I have ever gotten as a reaction is a blank stare. If the average jw did have a high iq , they will not have any opportunity to show it.

Funny you should say that. The Watchtower method of rote question and answer is an effective form of group hypnosis. I've seen entire auditoriums look calm and dazed during a Watchtower lesson. No wonder you got a "blank stare" -- you asked them a question, and it took them back to their WT-Study-Hypnotic state!
