OMG! I hear ya. The first couple of years of fading I would call the congregation. First of all no one ever answers. Ever! And then after countless messages I have yet to hear back. Eventually we would just go and if we were early we would go grab a bite

Sorry, but I have just had a delayed thought. After fading for a couple of years so far, I've wondered if the Memorial is the Society's way of keeping us lowly people in check. Like, you know, force us to attend just to be reminded that we aren't annointed and special. Besides that, it's another open opportunity for all the busybodies to have a fresh topic to gossip about afterwards (mostly during field service) such as "Oh, did you see who partook? Wasn't she DF'd before? How could the elders allow her to partake!" Trust me, I've heard that conversation too many times. I've also heard..."Didn't those wafers look so good? So-n-so made them by hand. Wasn't that nice?!" Oh, it makes me sick just remembering all that.
