Would you go to the Memorial?

If my mother needed me to take her, I would. But that would truly be a labor of love. When she passes, her memorial talk will be the last time I set foot in a Kingdom Hall.

Considering the Enthornement of christ as King in 1914, he being in the heavens and thus partaking of the new wine then, does it not seem as though the memorial is a moot point? Also, consider that the HS revealed to Russell that the year 1914 began THE generation, and the HS is infallible, there is NO remnant to actually partake. Imagine, changing dates and doctrine to satisfy this bookbinding companys failed belief system.

    Give me a break.........................

I would only go if I lived with Witness family members in order to appease them. Of course, I already have long hair, going for terminal length, so I wouldn't get a haircut and would also likely grow out a beard just in time for the memorial. ;) And I wouldn't wear a tie.

You know you don't have to go to a KH to commemorate the Memorial. You can do it right in your own living room, just look on a Hebrew calendar for Nissan 14 and partake of the emblems yourself after sundown. I'm not sure if the JW's have the memorial on the right night this year anyway. They many times do not because they use the wrong calendar to find out when Nissan 14 is. You can buy wine and matzah bread at the store and have a field day knowing you are actually partaking of something Jesus said to DO in remembrance of him, not just watch others do it. Just a thought :) Ashton

I faded and moved out of the area. The first year I felt compelled to go to the Memorial because I had never missed one in my life. I went and boy was it awful. I skipped the next year and never looked back.

You might feel some initial guilt in not going, but believe it goes away quickly.

Not to sound rude, but why would you want to go to this made up event?

The entire event is a lie, it is based on make-believe doctrine, based on incorrect interpretation and the practice is neither consistent or enforced (re: 144,000). Why any logical sane person with reasonable deduction skills would want to sit and partake of this pseudo-spiritual celebration is beyond me, especially after they have "awakened". The only way I can see the possible justification of going is to support your wife. But don't you realize as long as JWs feel they have a shred of a string to control you or infer their will over you, they will pull on it like a noose? You have free will, use it. Just think about taking this as an opportunity to break free of this group-think and find your individuality.
