We all need the freedom of speech we were not allowed to have in the witness " cult" because we were mind controlled by the governing body . Keep on posting your cool experiences and I assure you most everybody here will be supportive of you . I am glad to see cognac still posting....and I hope hypnotic comes back... I did send a PM to cognac before hypnotic appeared and before all hell broke loose....warning them about the trigger happy situation on the board....and sure enough, sadly it happened.... why should they have to be "verified"...hell Mr T was "verified"..and look what happened...

We know the mods were watching the situation (as is evidenced by the locked thread)... let them do their role here.....and not jump to conclusions....

we need to be as welcoming as we can be to the newbies... or we become what we once were and have come to despise.......judgemental JWs....

..and what a sad day that would be.....and on that day Simon may as well shut the site down if that happens long term....the point of this place would no longer be valid...

I understand how what I said may have been shocking, so I will be sure not to let everyone here know when shocking things do happen. I was SO pleased you came back Cognac..... I was worried about you. I will say this, honest posters will stay. The rest we can live without.

Many newbies coming here are fragile. Piling on, before you know all the facts can hurt and chase them away before they get the help they need. It's a scary thing to come here in the first place when you are taking the first baby steps out of the organization. I don't think that the litmus test for their honesty is their willingness to take punishment from people on this forum...especially when they are already going through a lot in the jw world. I think your statement above is cold.

Cognac is on the level. She is a spit fire...and I'm sure she is strong enough to get through the abuse she received on the forum. Her friend may not be so strong. I am looking forward to meeting both of them in person, and will do my best to repair the damage done.

The sad thing is we don't always get a chance to repair the damage. Words can hurt. Please remember that the next time guys, when you get the urge to attack a newbie...
