  Sorry troubled but I still just don't know. There is something about you I just can't put my finger on. I thought you were really focused but then I went back and read all of your posts and I don't know anymore.

  Malawi, manditory jail and all the other neutrality issues are tied into the UN thing because the GB was knowingly practicing non-neutrality (a disassociation offence) by supporting the UN charter from 1992 to 2001. Yet you don't think so??? You see, that sends a signal to my head that something isn't right.

  Sorry - What can I say. I have to be honest. You were the one that has said you were leaving this board only to return a couple of times - like maybe you are telling the truth but I feel uncomfortable with your posts. Your leaving/not leaving - then UN not a big deal - then Criteria was different and now UN is not the same as the neutrality issue - sorry.

  One thing - If your husband is that ill and thus you dont want to tell him now because it may throw him for a loop, why then would you coldcock him later just before you send the letter? Won't you really throw him for a loop then too? Should you not be careful - maybe let your friend write the letter?

  Sorry Troubled but I just don't know and I guess your patience with me will have to stay extremely low.

  Well wiz,

  Try chapter 7 of the Charter (Articles 39 to 51) where it talks about when to use armed force and why it is okay for a country to defend itself if attacked.

  If you read the Oct 1/1995 WT rag you will see how a Witness is suppose to treat the UN like all other governments. To support the UN charter is like supporting the USA constitution which is a non-neutral activity and unless I am mistaken chapter 5 of the "Pay Attention to the Flock" book (published in 1991) clearly indicates that any Witness knowingly practicing a "non-neutral" activity is considered disassociated.

  The wt own literature condemns itself. These articles condemning any un affilliation/support have been posted. Being a long time jw, you have read it in their lit as well. Your memory and mind is wt trained, so you are able to forget on wt command, instantly believe or unbelieve on wt new light command. It is called brainwashing.

  I don't know what to say. At least twice, I wanted to leave this site because I felt like people were being mean, but then came back because I knew there was some truthful info here.

  I know you think I'm defending everything the Society has done. That's not true. I just don't want to condemn them if there's a chance I don't know the whole story. I mean, it's my whole faith and life we're talking about here.

  As for my husband, maybe it's true what you said. That telling him later won't be any easier than telling him now. But I at least want to have the full picture before I do.

  I understand that I'm coming across to you as inconsistent and wishy-washy. If you can be patient with me, I will try to be with you.

  Well I notice H_S said you were not a troll. Thanks for bumping this post and the other. I just will respond here. I am not going to post the same stuff on two threads.

  Its not about writing a letter to the society and condeming them. Its about you understanding the physical and mental hurt that has been inflicted on thousands of your counterparts and getting it stopped. If this was part of the government, someone would have been charged by now.

  Anyway, enough about me and these concerns. Like I said I hadn't reached any conclusions but ..... I must stay honest with you and please stay impatient with me.

  You indicated you wanted the full picture before going to your husband? I think the only thing left is you sending your letter isn't it? Like the society has already responded to Steve Bates twice verbally and once in writing, responded to people on this board such as Wendy and to the press in Portugal. The society has also responded to people like OhHappyDay too and he has posted some sort of response. You also have the INDEPENDENT response from the UN in a Oct 11, 2001 letter as well as in their Directories of 1999 and 1994 (who has no issues with the Watchtower). So you have all those responses. Like how many responses from the society do you want?

  You might want to think about your husband real hard. I am really concerned about this - manic depression. I can only suggest that you should talk privately to your doctor or psychologist (or the specialist in charge) before telling him any of this stuff and what your plans are with a letter. Understanding what could happen to him and you helps.

  You mentioned your husband was manic depressive. As a victim of depression for many years, i can tell you that i have definitely improved since i'm out and deprogrammed from the wt. When i was a jw, i was on medication twice, and i used to contemplate suicide. In the wt, the process was failure, guilt, depression over and over. I always failed some of the wt recommendations. As i said, i'm much less depressed now, and i don't have all that stress that comes from always resisting and striving.

  I'm just sharing this because of the possibility that your husbands depression might be wt related.
