I do understand what you say, but that's not a fair comparison.
We as JDubs spend a lifetime listening to boring talks all year.
We all know this is true.
Our one reprive is 2 weeks a year when the C.O. comes and we get treated to a couple of good charasmatic talks.

Alot of our attitude, enthusiasm, adrenalin, even our concious effort is affected by those who can "move us" verbally. It is a talent that can open doors, get people to do things that they do not believe they can do. Ask any football coach (or parent).
You're so right Johnna - we all go about deluding ourselves we're living and beating ouselves up for some higher cause when someone comes along and let's us see that maybe we are all looking for a pied piper who plays a merry tune - the contenet is less relevant than who is delivering it!
I know all about the hours of talks as if in some way The Eternal Power wants us all sat falling asleep trying to force ourselves to convice our souls that this is good for us and our families till our brains are going home not having had a second clie what the whole was about and certainly lost within a short time thereafter.
I cannpot offer an alternative that I can guarantee is more fulfilling but I sure as heck will not accept the idea that it is the thing to do for all humanity!!
