Hi Joseph,
Surely you've considered that disciples who believe In Him can 'drink' the water of a different doctrine without harm to themselves.

Joe,
Another point to ponder here, Jesus said these signs would accompany them. We have exorcists even to this day who cast out demons; we have people who speak in tongues; we have groups of snake handlers, and these same ones drink poison. The gospel of Mark does NOT say that all Christians will do this, but rather some. Nor does this indicate it will happen in all places either. Just a thought to ponder.

Jesus H Christ, Yeru!!
I could give any one of those spiritual puds poison that would kill them body and soul.
Six,
What's the "H." stand for? Actually, surviving the drinking of poison is not all that new. King Mithradites (the 7th?) drank small doses of every kind of poison he could find to build and immunity. No one was ever able to poison him. Six, don't go poisoning anyone to prove your point. Either A) you'll be REAL disappointed, or B) more likely you'll get 20 to life.

In regard to Mark's claim that Jesus said that those who believe can drink any poison without harm, Yeru states, "Mark does NOT say that all Christians will do this, but rather some."
Alward responds:
I beg to differ. Mark makes it clear that Jesus' words apply to "whoever" believes. Take another look:
16 WHOEVER believes and is baptized will be saved...And these signs will accompany those who believe...when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all.

Bang wonders, "Surely you've considered that disciples who believe In Him can 'drink' the water of a different doctrine without harm to themselves."
Alward responds:
It is unimaginable that an all-knowing god would think that anyone would believe that the words "drink any deadly thing" actually meant "be exposed to other faiths."

JA,
You said: If you're not sure the Bible that describes your God is accurate, how do you know which God it is you have faith in?
My reply: I never said I was not sure the Bible is accurate. I made it clear that I agreed with you that the Bible is not accurate and contains some errors. You need to read my posts a little more carefully.
As far as the rest of your questions, weather the original manuscripts even existed does not concern me. I am sure I will never see them even if they do exist and are not altered. What concerns me is the relationship I have with God as he reveals himself to me. Not what others have written about him or try to convince others what God is to them.
Now, if you would, please answer the question I asked earlier.
Where does your faith lie? Or are you void of faith?
Scorpion asks, "Now, if you would, please answer the question I asked earlier. Where does your faith lie? Or are you void of faith?"
Alward responds:
If by "faith" you mean unquestioning belief in that which cannot be proved, or that for which there is no evidence, then I have no faith. Or, if "faith" means to you a belief in a personal, caring god, I likewise have no faith, because I'm aware of no evidence that there's a god who cares about me, or anyone else.

JA,
Thank you for your response, but it was obvious from your posts that you have no belief in God so therefore no faith in God.
I ask again if that is ok with you, and I will rephrase the question a bit. What kind of faith and hope do you have?
What kind of belief in the unbelievable do I have? None.
