The bottom line is, as much as I hate the Watchtower, they are entitled to the same rights as any other business in this country, including the right to defend their copyrights against infringement. They also have the right to go to hell, and I hope they exercise that right as soon as possible..

There is also fair use. Watchtower flip flops as documented in their literature is a news worthy. The site is a type of journalism. Burn

How does the WT society even know about these sites?

They are not looking at apostate literature, are they???

Hypocrites, they should maybe "hear" about these things through letters and so forth, however, they should not know for themselves because they should not be able to look at these sites according to there own law #149,939,543,546,453, 345, Appendix D, section C which states "you should not look at apostate literature otherwise you will be disfellowshipped."

I don't believe seeing any clause for the annointed to be able to look at this liturature either...

The Watchtower Society suing people for quoting their littera-trash is like a musician suing for "unauthorized public performance" when the performance was part of an advertisement for that record. They want to sell littera-trash, but they do not want it posted on the internet once it goes out of date. I think that is just a way to expunge old "light" and make it look as if the current view has always been that way.

Bingo, and even if they did they would just keep going it's the devil's world after all.

So true; if all else fails, blame Satan. Recently, I brought the UN scandal to a JW's attention, and was told that Satan controls the media and the UN, hence the "false postings" on the UN web site and the "false story" in the Guardian. If governing body members were caught on video molesting and decapitating children, that would also be a false story and another example of "Satan's attack on God's organization."

Like all cults, they have an answer for everything.

Suppose the WTS sues someone with limited assets and they don't try to defend themselves. They just notify the media and make it look like a David and Goliath scenario. I wonder if the WTS would continue amid the bad publicity or just give up.

I think the WTS would offer a sum of cash that would stop anyone from suing them and keeping them quiet. Gag orders are common when a person accepts the offer. And for almost all cases it comes down to continuing the fight and risk losing or go bankrupt

They are not looking at apostate literature, are they???

Of course they are. They want names. They want to seal the leak of information. Somehow things get posted yet that the average JW doesn't have access.

Funny how they go to the donation arrangement , not even putting a price on the stuff , yet somehow in a law suit the stuff is priceless , but don't try and tax the settlement monies or there's yet another court battle.Totally insane.

WTWizard has hit it on the head "I think that is just a way to expunge old "light" and make it look as if the current view has always been that way."

The last thing they need are all the new ones finding out about what the "used to believe". We know how contrived the historical account of the proclaimers book is, totally disinfected and some very key elements missing. White washes like that Marty Cole book and MacMillans book....what a joke. Then there are people who buy all the old books that come up off ebay on their behalf.

    George Orwell wrote their directive.

I think the watchtower society should pay bribe us with money not to post here, lol. Talk about bankruptcy! How much do you think they'd have to pay out to shut each and every one of us up?
