I just joined about 2 months ago and am really enjoying it.
My screwed up life of kidnap, cult, brain injury and kidney donation provides me plenty to speak about.
Any other members here?
The pres. of the club is encouraging me to take on the Internationa competition. I think I'm game.

What's it all about? I've never heard of it.
I've seen ads in the paper and wondered about it. But haven't looked into it. Yet. Sounds like a valuable thing! What is the meeting format, and what subjects are discussed?
I did Toastmasters for a couple of years. They are really a great group. My schedule doesn't allow me to make the meetings regularly. they are basically set up for 9-5ers. If you think the Ministry School teaches anything, 6 mos in Toastmasters = lifetime in MS. Some people are practically lifetime members. You learn a lot of skills besides speaking. I wish there were a Jr Toastmasters in the public schools programs.
Topics are what ever you come up with. Of course, you need to think of your audience where ever you are as in topic of sex, etc.
It's a very structured, yet fun format (all clubs vary on the fun part). Toastmaster helps in the fear of speaking, self confidence and communication skills.
Here there are clubs that start at 6:00 a.m. and noon. Mine is 7p to 8:30p.

Bryan - I am sure you would be excellent in the International competition. I have been kicking the idea of joining around for quite awhile now. Eventually I will make the time. I believe it is a great way to let people know how dangerous the cult really is.

Oh! I've been considering this for a while.
I think there's even one within my company. Alas, I may be changing positions and moving again so don't think this is the right time to get started.
Nice to hear such positive experiences with this group. I will need to make a commitment to this when I get re-settled.

I'm not a bit surprised. You are and intelligent and have an amazing story to tell. Your life experience is something that can make people aware of the evil that exists. I am proud of you Bryan. I have only read snippets of your book so far, but hope to purchase it very soon. You are an incredible writer and I'm sure you speak every bit as eloquently as you write.
