Crumpet mentioned a May Fest...and we are ready to eat some more mudbugs. And I can attest to authentic Louisiana taste, I was raised 90 miles south of New Arlens...in a high spot in the swamp.

    Good Eatin' ! Y'all come now !

i wasn't brave enough to nibble a crawfish last year, but am feeling braver this year. looking forward to seeing you all. Will be there 3rd May and plan to go to scarbough Renfest for the day so anyone who fancies hanging out and doing some champagne bellinis like last year is welcome to join me.

Dammit, we're not available that weekend!!!

Elsewhere, I did check into parks in the area, but most of them (at least in my white bread suburbia area) have a No Liquor rule -- AS IF!!! Can't eat mudbugs without alcohol. Simply isn't done.

What about Joe Pool Lake? Didn't we consider that one year?

I will be around the following weekend too so let me know if anything gets planned and I shall be there!

I have delayed making a formal announcement for two two reasons:

    1. I'm hoping to keep the gathering size down to 20 - 30 in attendance (I'm just not up to the work required to do a 60+ person party)
    2. Difficulty finding an appropriate facility for hosting the event.

I recently spoke with the manager of a small seafood restaurant on a classic "Small town main street". He has an upstairs room available for use that is suitable for 20 - 30 people.

In exchange for use of the room, all he asks is that everyone buy drinks. Sounds like a damn good deal to me!

I want to nail down some formalities over the next few days. Once that is done I will make the formal announcement.

Damn... the room deal fell threw.

Apparently they did not understand that my hosting a Crawfish Boil would mean that I would be Boiling Crawfish. They they graciously offered to provide boiled crawfish for $500.00.

Sorry, I don't need mud bugs THAT bad!

Unless someone can come up with a sudden stroke of genius for holding a proper crawfish boil, I'm afraid we will just have to settle for everyone meeting at normal restaurant for dinner together. (No crawfish unless you order them from the menu).

I'm certainly open to ideas. Here is what we will need for a crawfish boil:

    1. A place suitable for a large propane burner and a very large pot of water
    2. A place that allows alcohol
    3. A place that has plenty of shade for everyone
    4. A place that has tables and chairs for everyone
    5. A place that has running water and bathroom facilies.

Regretablly I find it impossible to attend this year. Good luck on finding a place Elsewhere.
