I'll get the obligatory humorous retort out of the way:
I won't answer this question, because I'm afraid you might get mad at me or even disagree. Then you'd post something mean to me. Then I'd have to retaliate and go looking for posts where you might have said mean things to other people and then show everyone what a bastard you are. And then everyone would start taking sides, and we'd have another incident with a name that ends with '-gate'.

I'm afraid of Satanus' avatar. The eyes seem to be staring straight into my soul.
Otherwise, the answer is no.

Nope - not in real life or here. I would hope I'm not a carbon copy of anyone or they of me. How boring would that be?

That's actually a great opportunity to see if you've got real friend material on your hands or not. One of my very best friends is one I don't agree with on some important topics. We discuss them until we each understand the other's point of view and can identify the exact point of divergence. Then we're done.

Outlaw,
It happens.
It is also something that builds caricature and understanding in both. Maybe.
There are several on this board who I agree with about 90% of the time when it comes to their context in relation to the subject matter or instance being discussed or played out on this forum. But, adamantly disagree at times, with in their style, agenda orientated slant and timing of the presentation of that context.
You and I have been on this board for about the same amount of time. We have both seen it all. I think you understand what I am saying.
When it comes to the virtual reality and relative personal importance of this and other discussion boards, I have learned to keep one thought in a tightly focused perspective. It is better to keep a good friend than it is to make a good point.
People here tend to take it all too seriously. The ones who do are the ones who are afraid.

If they are your friend, here or away from the board we should be able to be to disagree agreeably.

Not at all. I respect my friends too much to hide my opinion, or to think they have to agree with me. We have much more important things in common, like having birthdays that are close together.

OUTLAW - No, I'm not afraid to differ in opinion . I feel everyone has their views - I will put forth my opinion in a manner that someone might accept it in , trying to be respectful . However I expect the same civil treatment back. If we don't agree, I accept that after a couple tries, and walk away from the discussion . If someone wants to continue beating a dead horse - it's a waste of time. But I will stand up for friends and what I believe in - even if others don't . I will stand up for what I feel are right principles - I'm not intimidated by anybody. You flashing your gun at me is pretty scary though ! LOL! Your cowboy looks like he will climb through the screen ! Peace out, Mr. Flipper
