MARSAL- Wow ! You saw Stevie perform ? Wish I could have as well ! Tin Pan Alley - great song !
LOTUCUS of BORG- Great stuff ! I have Stevies 2nd Austin City Limits performance on VHS . Watch it fairly often, over and over again ! I loved Blues at Sunrise too. Very moody, sullen and electric.
JK- The Sky is Crying is a great song ! I didn't hear most of Soul to Soul much- I think it was some of his early stuff. My fanatic witness wife at the time did her best to control my rock n' roll influence ! She would have spanked me - and not in the pleasant way you are thinking ! LOL!
TWITCH- Oh Yeah ! I forgot about Voodoo Chile ! That was a great song as well. I always tap my foot tpo Cold Shot when it comes on .
4 MY LOVE- Little Wing ! What a classic. He played that so great ! Crossroads was a great song too - it got a lot of radio airplay before Stevie died

Superstition. Maybe not a platform for his virtuoso abilities, but an astoundingly strong piece of music, artfully constructed.

I love to see footage of him and his brother playing, it reminds me of my brothers. Stevie will always be on of the greats. There is something about the way he played that CAN NOT be mimicked. I'm hoping to take my bro to Austin to Antone's. They have this great big painting of him on right stage that gives you goosebumps. I also love watching his facial expressions on footage.
Anyone seen the footage of the Montreaux Jazz festival the first time he was there? Watch it then watch the later footage after he got known. It's amazing to see the difference. Also, I think it was at that concert where David Bowie saw him and fell in love with the man and the style. But then again, it was hard not to.
Another little known fact is that the guitar he played, The One, was actually one he traded for. He kept it till the end. The gauge of the strings is impressive. My bro has changed his to match and now he sees just how great he was. To play with such heavy gauge is painful. No wonder he made it cry.....

RULES & REGULATIONS - I really agree. I put Stevie in the same league as Jimi Hendrix . He was as good or better than Hendrix- in my opinion. Thanks for sharing that bizarre story of " Willie the Wimp ". Very educational. I never knew that story. Willie looks at peace in that car - even in death !
VOIDEATER- Stevie was so good that when he did play other artists songs - he made the songs sound better than the original artist !
OUTLAW-" Cold Shot baby ! Yeah ! That's a drag !" Great song ! You met Stevie ? Wow ! PM me about the meeting if you'd like - I'm curious. He is my second favorite all time guitarist ! My No. 1 ? Jimmy Page - Led Zeppelin. Jimi Hendrix is my No. 3 all time favorite ! Peace.
ANTICHRIST - Great song picks by you.
CHOOSING LIFE- I think if Stevie were playing guitar on that song you mentioned- it would have even added more spark to it .
4 MY LOVE- Yeah ! There will never be another Stevie ! Nobody could imitate him ! I didn't see the Montreaux footage you mentioned. He did have some bizarre facial expressions for sure when he played ! Really cool though ! Peace oput, Mr. Flipper
