It snow last night from about midnight on.I was at work driving my cab.I usually don't drive in snowy weather but I didn't know it was going to snow last night.I was driving about 40 miles an hour on a plowed but not salted innerstate driving a customer to the airport.I hit an icy patch on the road and spun clear accrost the innerstate doing a complete loop.I hit the wall on the back passenger side.I messed up the bumper and tail light. The passenger was fine and not hurt at all.I hurt my back on impact.I strained some back muscles.

The passenger took it very well concerding he had a flight to leave the country he had to get on.Problem was the trunk/boot of the car was smashed in on one side and I couldn't open the trunk to get his luggage out.The dispatcher called the towing company to come out to pry open the trunk/boot but they said they would be an hour.He couldn't wait that long so I took him to the cab company garage.I had a pry bar in my car.I was unable to pry the trunk/boot open myself.Another driver was called to come get the guy and he was able to get the trunk/boot open.So he finally got his luggage out so he could go to the airport.

I had to fill out paper work for 2 hours. My perfect record is now gone.I've never had any kind of accident before in my whole life. This was my first ever that I was driving for.I may go to the hospital later on today. My back is sore.I don't have any muscle relaxers here and I have had back problem since I was a kid of 14.The police were not needed so I won't get any kind of ticket and I'm covered under the company insurance so I won't get sued.

Lucky for me no other cars were involved and my passenger wasn't hurt.My lease is being held till I go downtown and speak to the big boss.So I can't work for the rest of the weekend.I hope to be back to work next weekend.

My landlady is not going to be happy at all.I'm trying to catch back up from being behind on my rent.I went and got another job to help the situation but things keep getting in the way.I'll see what I can do.

((((((((((noni)))))))))), So sorry. Glad it wasn't any worse. Hope your back feels better soon. I have had good luck with ice and an anti-inflammatory (like asperin or over-the-counter ibuprofen) if you can tolerate it. Jeez, you've really been through a lot lately.

Gosh Noni! So sorry to hear about your accident, but glad you're okay. I hope your landlord is an understanding person .... I definitely know how some of them can be! Sometimes whenever you think you can make ends meet, someone comes along and moves the ends!!! I do think you should see a doctor about your back.

Sorry you had to suffer through that, Noni. Sorry for the car, too. I love those Police Interceptor, Crown Vics.

I am so glad that it wasn't worse than that. Looping a car on an Interstate could have been much worse. Get your back checked out today to make sure that is okay and get your muscle relaxers.

Sorry to here about your missfortune. I grew up in Parma. I remember hitting ice up there and my car just slidiing off the road. Some of those accidents you can do nothing about. Unless you stayed home and never ventured out.

The roads in Florida are much better than cleveland. I've seen maybe 2 potholes in 27 years.

Yeah the roads in Cleveland suck big time.It doesn't help that I work for a company where drivers have to shop the cars/vans they drive to get any repair work done.Like new tires for instance. If you want new tires because bad weathers coming you have to take time and fill out a form.Which sad to say most drivers don't because they just don't care. Most drivers don't care because they are only driving that car/van for that one night and why take the time out of their night/day to do paper work if they aren't driving that cab again.Sometimes I've had to beg for new tires to be put on the van that I drive all the time.I've even gone over the head of the mechanic who does all of our work and went downtown to their shop for new tires.

I however write shop tickets on almost every car/van I've ever driven. If I hear a noise I write a shop ticket. If it needs shock or struts I write a shop ticket. If it needs tires I write a shop ticket.I was planning one writing on for this cab when I turned it in after my shift.

I'll probally get yelled at for not checking the tires before I left the garage with this car.All I can say was yes I should have checked and I normally do.But I was upset because I had to change out of a van with good tires but no heat.Which means I lost time last night anyway. My regular van was shopped so I could not drive that one.It wasn't snowing when I left the garage with the replacment car.I didn't know it was going to snow anyway.I normally don't drive when it snows for this reason.I won't lose my lease because this is the first time in 3 and a half years that I've worked for them that I gotten into any kind of accident.I'll make sure to check the tires no matter what next time that's for sure.
