The most important part is no one was seriously hurt. That would make life pretty crappy. It looks like a bumper and a tail light with minor bodywork will put things right. Bumpers fall of really easy on newer cars. No driving record is perfect. Hope you are not having to deal with a deductible. That would suck.

I have better than that.I have 2 witnesses who heard him say he was ok.I had to drive him and the car back to the garage to get a crow bar to open the trunk/boot and both of the dispatchers asked him if he was ok.He said yes to both of them.

I won't have to pay for any damage anyway.I'm covered under the company's insurance.

My back feels much better.I took some advil and went to sleep.I woke up fine.

The passenger could start to hurt later on - sounds as though the impact was closest to the passenger. He was probably too stressed at the time, worrying about his flight, to notice if he was hurt. I'm glad both of you are OK - sounds so scary to do a complete loop on the interstate. What if there had been more traffic? By the way, heat feels good, but ice is actually a better pain reliever.
