  Oompa,

  I think that you are affected by the lack of normal boundaries that is a part of being raised a JW. It is alright to have a private side, in spite of what we were taught growing up. It is okay not to agree with our parents and elders viewpoint on things.

  Let me ask you this: If you had no fear of reciprocity, would you just tell them that I am going to see my son? The fear of what can be done to punish someone who is still in is the "real" bad thing!

  I was able to have a conversation about the UN with a couple of elders last week, and it was the first time I ever felt able to speak my mind without fear to them. It was because I am already disfellowshipped, and finally there was no fear of consequences involved. This is a freedom a fader doesn't have. And freedom feels great!

  I have gone thru 2 phases since I da'ed myself due to neutrality issue :

  1st phase : left them but still think that they have the truth - a "let's eat and drink for 2moro we are to die" attitude - smoke, drink, womanising. Worry abt cancer and hiv? no! before I could get cancer or AIDS, the big A would have come.

  2nd phase: Stop and ponder after coming to JWD in oct 07...wt does not have the truth! big A not coming...need to think of my future...but can't stop smoking, but practise safe sex, and plan for my future.

  There seems to be a common problem with witnesses that just recently left the Borg its probably due to the ever present repression

  and control. Particularly so with young people/adolescents they tend to have a rebellious slant to their personality anyways, I could be considered a part

  of that group when in my twenties looking back, but maturity finality kicked in upon my thirties.

  Some of the problems probably wouldn't occur with the witnesses weren't so dam controlling and demanding with their followers

  it just breeds rebelliousness in some people.

  And many unfortunately get into self-abusing themselves because of this with bad social behavior such as booze , drugs , smoking among others.

  Consider it all a bad and unfortunate kick back from a mind controlling cult.

  Just keep in mind (if you want) that is just what the WBTS say happens to all individual who leave.

  Actually never thought about this, so did not mean to imply it. However in some ways, the really "good" dubs, like my parents have such perfect morals........they are dang high caliber people....esp. those who are really sincere.

  I definately went a little wild a few month after becoming AWARE. I know I cussed like a sailor. And I think the posts here about how repressed were were and the results of that are dead on.....................interesting responses.....and how do I get my JW wife to watch even soft porn....she needs a jump start!..................................oompa

  I do 'bad' things now because i can and because i no longer feel any guilt.

  well, according to the org., I am "bad association." I went on a bender after leaving the org., experimented with all the forbidden stuff, sex and rock and roll at least. Drugs and alcohol don't appeal to me. Got over it pretty quickly, also spent time going to different churches, got over that quickly too. Now I just live a decent life, try not to hurt anyone, but I do like to swear.

  Yeah, I tell anyone who will listen, that's not a JW, how incredibly shitty, false and dangerous that religion of the damned is.

  And I grew a beard.

  Also, when I drink, I spit out F-bombs like a machine gun spits out bullets.

  I also tend to do that when I'm sober.

  Once you leave the dubs you tend to forget what gossips they are. After all they don't have much else to talk about, eh? Sorry you end up being fodder for their limited entertainment oompa! They also don't mind punishing the parents for the sins of the children so I expect anything you do they find out about will "reflect" somehow on your parents to their (and probably your) dismay.

  So is the crux of the matter that you want to do bad things but are twarted so want to live vicariously thru us?
