It is a continuous "bitch" session of "Ain't it Awful".

I'm not going to go into the particulars of your post, but it seems we are more in agreement on a few matters than I'd (and probably you'd) have thought. Obviously we also disagree on a few things, but that's not too important here. Suffice to say I had already made my mind up about JWs and the Bible before I found out about the various 'scandals' of the org.

If you ever want an eyeful of "ain't it awful", take a peek a the back of the Awake magazine and the inside of most WT magazines. Most news items are spun to "how awful" this system is and how close we certainly must be to this awful system's end. I have no idea how old you are but if you were a youngster in the 50's like me, it's like deja vu again and again. If you have a WT library on CD you can check that for youself.

Oh, I forgot, you won't be able to check out Awake any earlier than 1970. Certain incriminating articles referring to the year 1975 were quite heavy with hype in those prior years so it was very convenient just to skip those earlier years.

To Brooklyn leaders, people of any other religion are awful, schools are awful, all religious leaders are awful, all politicians are awful. And until WT got it's hands stuck in the cookie jar a few years ago, the U.N. was the most awful human arrangement on the planet.

Folks on this board are mostly fed up with taking that kind of abuse. Don't expect us to cut them any slack after what they've done to us and what they continue to do to their current flock.

From memory this has been the unspoken policy for a while - anybody remember when, if a 'bible' study hadn't bought in after going through one book they had to be dumped? The people coming to our doors these days are completely gutless and truly do not want to start a real conversation or try to establish a friendship. They have to be coaxed to talk about anything, they just want to do their magazine presentation, be rejected and leave. They don't even want to talk about the truth when they're socialising with their closest friends. Talking about it raises too many difficult questions. Just cover the easy ones at the wt study and that makes it feel like you've researched.
