Aniron: According to the JWs isn't the tree that is cut down and the stump banded represent "Jehovahs kingdom" removed from the earth. That this is were they get they 2,520 years to 1914 when Jesus returned and re-established the "Kingdom" though invisibly.

I think that DJP is pursuing some reasoning beyond the JW box, Aniron.

Funny how some people, though out, still continue to think within the JW guideline of interpretations, relying on this dubious invisible kingdom to establish time lines. Throw it out!

I think you are on the right track DJP and I really hope to see this subject explored deeper.

There clearly is something mentioned about an appointed times of the nations that needed fulfillment in the new testament even the j-dubs may have had it right with the 7 times 360 and then a year for a day but nobody but they say that judah fell in 607 bce and there is no evidence beside the 2 bands on the stump that there are 2 meanings. 1914 does seem pretty likely even since jesus said in mathew about world war and such .

DJP, do you see BTG as still analogous to a huge religious empire, or do you have another angle on that?

I see BTG as a religious entity...not another social/economic entity.

BTG is drunk with the blood of the saints and prophets... it's a religious org. that takes the control(?) away from the Spirit of God and the work done by the prophets and saints in leading you to Jesus Christ, by instituting man-made rules and regulations pertaining to the exclusive worship of God.("Bible" God) they are drunk on the power and authority of the scriptures, and deem to make themselves into "the Christ" by having people "serve" their best interests, which is in opposition to the fact that the Holy Spirit and the prophets and saints have always had the best interests of the "flock" in mind...hence, leading you to salvation(good) and away from death.(evil) having said that...well...does the U.N. care how you worship? Does the bank of America care how you worship? ...I see no way that these "entities" are taking anything away from the "prophets and saints" and using them for any kind of power over the ones that might be in a position to become children of God. love michelle

This symbol is called the TRIQUETRA. It is used by religious denominations, secret societies, and political entities.

They are all related and intertwined. The ultimate goal, one world domination, will come to fruition during the great tribulation.

This same symbol is used by secret societies. Short piece of info at this link:

This symbol is also used by the "political element". Short piece of info at this link:

    http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/14/152029/3.ashx (scroll to third response)

The triquetra has been found on rune stones in Northern Europe (Middle Ages)

The symbols is also sometimes used by Wiccans and some New Agers to symbolize either the Wiccan triple goddess or other concepts.

  • In recent years, the symbol has become well-known due to its use on the cover of the "Book of Shadows" used by the three sisters on the American TV show Charmed.
  • The triquetra has recently been adopted as the logo of the Ontario New Democratic Party in Canada.
  • The symbol was later used by Christians as a symbol of the Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit).

    dear tula...

I understand that symbols do play a part in Christanity. In the middle-ages symbols were used to portray(on sight) a certain thought or conviction to those who couldn't read. Many ancient symbols and their meanings have been lost to modern man, and with it the "power" that these symbols evoked in a person...a strong (non-Christain) one may be the skull and cross-bones...these symbols and their meaning are mostly lost to modern man...

tho...it doesn't stop some people from trying to gain power by using symbols that at one time did garner authority...

a little bit on Christian symbolism... http://www.rosslyntemplars.org.uk/Rosslyn_Symbolism.htm

    http://www.rosslyntemplars.org.uk/Moses.htm

symbols are a reality...but only the individual can give them "power"...

    love michelle

interesting...JW's are taught to relinquish any "power" that the cross symbol may have on an individuals mind or heart.

I hate to sound like a dub but I think they may have had that right about the false religionists and apostasy , my belief is that the whore of babylon is the catholic church but that babylon may include all religions that promote beliefs that can be traced to ancient babylon , the trinity and use of cross were very deceptive to pagans .

heathen said: they may have had that right about the false religionists and apostasy

Now these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, on whom the ends of the ages have come. 1 Corinthians 10:11

(Then they rose early one the next day, offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. Exodus 32:6)

(Then Israel remained in Acacia Grove, and the people began to commit harlotry with the women of Moab. They invited the people to the sacrifices of their gods, and the people ate and bowed down to their gods. Numbers 25:1)

So...Israel showed interest in false gods and therefore were commiting harlotry...they also weren't interested in serving the true God they were content in their false worship...

O Ephraim, what shall I do to you?

O Judah, what shall I do to you?

For your faithfulness is like a morning

cloud, and like the early dew it goes away.

Therefore I have hewn them by the

    prophets,

    I have slain them by the words of My mouth;

And the judgements on you are like light that

    goes forth.

For I desire mercy and not sacrifice,

and the knowledge of God more than

    burnt offerings. Hosea 6:4-6

    p.s. sounds like Matthew 24:38...mankind and something supernatural..(Dan 2:43-44) (Rev. 17:16-17)
