It's easier for some people to leave than it is others. The people that it's easiest for don't even post on boards like these. My cousin is a good example of this. He didn't really get into it for very long, even though he was raised a witness. When he left he just stopped going. He never had any witness friends, and his family was already leaving with him. Me, on the other hand, have my entire social life wrapped up in the religion, and it is VERY difficult for me to make friends outside that context. If I cut all ties right now, I would very likely kill myself, so I have to take it slow and acclimate to my new life. I think the more into Jehovah's Witnesses you are, the harder it is to leave.
I've seen various threads here that influence me to believe that there are MS, elders, and bethelites here. I wouldn't, however, bet the ranch on it.
To those of you who are convinced, and without giving names or exact location, how were you able to confirm that instance? I mean, most posters here (excluding myself) are anonymous.

Some are "apostates" and don't even know it. For example, when I was an up-and-comer, there were a couple elders who would frequently express their misgivings and doubts about certain organizational policies around me. We would be driving out in service, doing our "shepharding" calls, and something about our status made it OK to talk frankly about what some R&F would be shocked to hear.
I think this is because once you become an elder, you are brought into this world of POLICY that casts a shadow over FAITH. So naturally, you're free to criticize POLICY, because little of it is grounded in scripture and can be defended thoroughly. This is why the highest compliment that can be paid to another brother is that he's a "company man." Those were the ones you could never trust to speak openly about anything, because they will always defend the "company line," the policy that upholds the authority of the organization. If you know a smattering of bureaucratic psychology, you can survive as an Elder-Apostate.
I believe there are what you call "undercover elders" that think they can make changes happen on the inside. I think those who believe that are delusional and are wasting their lives away.
I know a CO who read COC, but knowing him, I'm convinced he doesnt believe it is the truth anyway. He is in it for the power. And he get much of it!
EXACTLY -depends on the motivation - if you are not in for everalsting life but the power trip, it becomes easy to live the lie and post on here. It does depend on the person.

This CO I know is a 100% wt company man, he hunts down undercover apostates and is a pedophile-protector. He was a missionary, missionary home overseer... and the last I know he is a CO.
I doubt he would post on a forum like this one.
I think the higher up you go inside the org, the easier it is to live a double-life (alc., sex, theft,...). but not when it comes to apostasy.

So, are you saying that these higher ups are not TRULY MISGUIDED?

Some are victims of victims...not all!
There are higher ups, policy makers or long-time elders who fully know it is not the truth and are in for the motives mentioned above.
Undercover apostate elders who post here, I understand, are in a difficult position due to family relations.
Not sure if this answers your large print question!?
I wouldnt be supprised when I was trapped in the tower in the 70's a lot of the elder leaders were business men, car salesmen, insurance salesmen, kitchenware salesmen, Their business base depended on the friends. They would have sought to maintain their prestigious position whether they believed or not, because they were following salesmen 101, join and participate in a group or church to find customers.
Even today, I know elders who have cushy positions in busniesses run by witnesses. They would maintain the status quo instead of risking loosing their jobs and positions within the witness companies.
Thats the way the business work world is. I keep my mouth shut and go along with the program so I can maintain my worldly job. Many of those that dont are working at Mcdonalds and 7- 11.
